That’s what I was thinking, too. I live in a country where, until recently, the main mode of transport was on motorcycle. It was a rite of passage to forget the muffler is very hot and brush a leg up next to one. Kids were told then, but other kids and also adults, “Wow! That’s painful. But now, you’re one of us.”
Sympathy is found in the dictionary. Suck it up and move on.
Yep. Parents really shouldn’t worry so much. I’d hate to have had those kind of parents. I could imagine them freaking when I burned my arm on a hot lawnmower engine, turning the skin an ashen white color. Or when I worked at a beer and wine store — all kinds of cuts, bumps, bruises and a blood blister to boot from pinching a finger pad in the walk-in cooler door.
The kids mother should have been raised on a farm.

Spray on some WD-40 if it is there.
Wrap on a rag or some tape.
Finish the day - Clean up at home.
