My cat died today. She was 20. She was a beautiful golden brown tabby. She was very good cat to get along with. She loved her family. Yes, I'm saddened, but she lived a pretty good life.
God honoured me by allowing her to pass on before I brought her to the vet for euthanization. The vet told me that the lack of corneal activity probably indicated that she only operating autonomously, with her heart and lungs and bodily functions. But that was all that was left of her.
So, while we will probably have pets in heaven and eternity because that is our nature, to want to have pets. Will God allow the pets we loved to join us in eternity or will we have to satisfy ourselves with new pets only?
I had a cat for 23 years he passed a year ago it was AWFUL!! Having a pet for that period of time it is horrible when they pass!! I got another cat and it really helped with my grief!!
For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. (Romans 4:16)
Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. (Matt 5:48)
Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved (Acts 4:12)
Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. (Isaiah 1:18)
Dogs and cats have the same range of emotions humans have, anyone that has had a pet for a number of years knows this. Any creature with a capacity for love has a soul, I truly believe this. And this isn't hopium speaking either, it just makes sense in my mind. Our Father in Heaven is a magnificent creator and nothing is beyond possibility.
Ecclesiastes 3:21 NKJV
Who knows the spirit of the sons of men, which goes upward, and the spirit of the animal, which goes down to the earth?
Isaiah 65:25 NKJV
“The wolf and the lamb shall feed together,
The lion shall eat straw like the ox,
And dust shall be the serpent’s food.
They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain,”
Says the Lord.
The Bible does not specifically mention the resurrection of animals, but that does not mean it will not happen. They will be in the eternal kingdom.
God speaks to us through animals.
And they praise God.
Revelation 5:13 NKJV
And every creature which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying:
“Blessing and honor and glory and power
Be to Him who sits on the throne,
And to the Lamb, forever and ever!”
God’s provision and special purpose for animals:
Psalm 104:27-30 NKJV
These all wait for You,
That You may give them their food in due season.
What You give them they gather in;
You open Your hand, they are filled with good.
You hide Your face, they are troubled;
You take away their breath, they die and return to their dust.
You send forth Your Spirit, they are created;
And You renew the face of the earth.
Yeah, even the cats would disapprove if you drowned your wife and kids in the bathtub.
And do they allow rats in heaven?
Great answer.
I believe that consciousness survives death, not just human consciousness, but also the animal consciousness of pets who have become attached to us. Or, more accurately, we are all eternal beings, it is just our life here in the material world that is limited.
In Oksana’s last days I would pull in after work and find her on the roof or in a tree. She had some kind of kitty cat alzheimer/dementia. Her eyes showed signs. I let her do it her way. Found her in rigor, waited till she loosened up and buried her under the bird feeder. She was a cardinal fan, feathers and all. She also killed copperhead and cotton mouth. He’ll of a cat indeed.
Again, sorry for your loss.
If dogs (and cats) don’t go to Heaven, then I want to go where they go....

Animals are a part of God’s creation. Of course this wondrous part of the Lord’s creation will be in Heaven….
Yes, animals will. However, can we have the pets we knew.
It would be an indescribable blessing to me if that were possible.
Quite sure if you are blessed to be in Heaven, they will be with you.
Cats and dogs that do not go to bathroom...
Truly an eternal reward for their owners!
Yes, we will. They are there waiting for us.
I am so sorry for your loss. My heart is broken for you but please know they are already watching over you, waiting to be reunited with you!!! Hugs.
Revelation has Jesus returning, riding on a white horse - if there are horses in heaven there has GOT to be cats.
That's what I'm going with.
Absolutely they will be there. The ones full of love, that is. 100% faith.
Sorry for your loss. We lost our sweet little angel kitty Sara late Wednesday night. Nothing has ever loved me like she did, or ever will. Followed me almost everywhere when I was home, and waited in the window for me to return whenever I left. I buried her under a palm outside my main room, that I can see whenever I look out the window, so we can still keep an eye on each other most of the time still, even though I know her spirit is in a better place now, waiting for me there now too.
Looking at pictures we made of her over the last many years, especially the more funny ones, have really helped us cope. Hope you can find peace as well, and knowing they are in Heaven waiting for you helps, so please don’t doubt it. God would never turn His back on something so full of love, who brought us such joy.
I hope so but I wonder if the cats I have had will get along with each other....
I am so sorry. And yes, I do believe we’ll see our beloved pets in Heaven.
I would like to say yes but I cannot find solid Biblical evidence for it.
I will say, in my dreams I often see my parents and even some of my pets; all of whom I loved very much.
One seemed to be a mansion with my father there and a separate dream like that regarding my mother.
It is basically part of my daily prayers to be with all of them during the Millennial Reign of Christ and on into eternity.
