Russia’s former space chief doubts US landing on Moon

A former chief of Russian space agency Roscosmos has voiced doubt over the authenticity of the 1969 Apollo 11 Moon landing.

“About 10 years ago, when I worked in the government, I sent an official request to Roscosmos to provide me with documentary evidence of the Americans' stay on the moon,” Dmitry Rogozin said in a statement on Telegram on Sunday.

Rogozin said that he was “embarrassed” about the return of Soviet cosmonauts from space expeditions barely able to stand on their feet and undergoing long recoveries, while US astronauts crawled out of their lunar ships, in his words, “like cucumbers from the garden.”

Rogozin further said that he continued to search for evidence on the US landings on the Moon while working at Roscosmos, but said he could not find anything other than the “angry accusations” of some academics who claimed that he undermined Russia’s “sacred cooperation with NASA.”

Rogozin also said he received a call from a high-ranking official accusing him of "aggravating the international situation" with his doubts about the Apollo 11 landing.

“I did not undermine or aggravate anything, but only by virtue of my nature I tried to get to the bottom of the details and establish, at least for myself, the true state of affairs in the issue of exploration of the Moon by our competitors. It was not clear to me how the United States, at that level of technological development of the ‘60s in the last century, did what they still cannot do now,” Rogozin said…

Like I said before, you can't be convinced; your mind is made up, it's a complete waste of time to argue with you.

Thanks for proving my point. If NASA gets the funding it needs to continue the program and land on the moon in a few years, I'll be waiting patiently here for you to admit you were wrong.

Not hardly.

Well The Planetary Society reported that NASA received nearly 23 Billion in 2020 alone. So that pretty much blows a hole in your whole “NASA is just too poor!” argument. Bye.

Almost makes sense - except the answer is too easy. We decided to p*ss our money away on waging unnecessary wars.

But you understand that they have a lunar return program going now, and have for several years, don't you? Part of that money _is_ going toward returning to the moon.

Turn that 23 billion into 1969 dollars then see!

Not to mention it’s probably a lot easier to deal with 1/6 gravity than full earth gravity, even if your muscles have started to atrophy a bit.

“No conspiracy nut has ever admitted they were wrong.”

They must all be in on it together.

A lunar return program? I guess NASA isn’t as broke as you made it sound. I knew I’d get some truth out of you eventually. Now, since we’ve already been to the moon multiple times I’m sure they’ll be heading back very, very soon, right?? Nothing else would make sense. Especially since technology is light years ahead of where it was in 1969.

Just the thousands of people who were involved in the design and the launch. This was 1969 and people had a conscience back then. No way they could get away with faking it.

This is all just a part of the communist plot to destroy the significance of America heroes and achievements. You are obviously falling for it.

Rogozin said that he was “embarrassed” about the return of Soviet cosmonauts from space expeditions barely able to stand on their feet and undergoing long recoveries, while US astronauts crawled out of their lunar ships, in his words, “like cucumbers from the garden.” Conservatives, much more Christians, who subscribe to MLD (moon landing deniers) hoaxnut propaganda are the embarrassment, as their position is contrary to abundant incontrovertible evidence, and I suspect is usually driven some sort of animus against authority over them (thus - as the enemy of my enemy is my friend - loving anti-Christ Putin (as are liberals) as a rebel, and not doubting the Soviet landers - first on December 15, 1970 an unmanned - on Venus), while implicitly exhibiting faith in the US and other governments as being to keep such a massive secret as this would be.

As for Russian reaction: How did the Soviets React to the Moon Landings? (Short Animated Documentary) The Moon Landing through Soviet Eyes: A Q&A with Sergei Khrushchev, son of former premier Nikita Khrushchev

Just up the road to Hanksville, you'll find the underground (well - inside a rock) gas station.
