Police say a woman was held at knifepoint Tuesday during a harrowing daylight incident in the Bronx.
The incident happened on the Grand Concourse near East 149th Street that afternoon when a man and woman approached a 56-year-old woman, the New York Post reported Thursday.
The two individuals allegedly brought out a knife and forced the victim to go to an ATM and retrieve $8,000 from her bank account.
The pair is accused of taking the money and two of the woman’s rings.

My chase ATM has a hard limit at $500.
Hard to believe she could pull that much
I’ve never seen an ATM able to give out $8K at once. Most banks have a daily limit of a couple thousand dollars per day.
Same here, and I’m not poor, it makes me wonder
You can’t even get $8000 through the ATM output slot at one time
It simply won’t fit
Truist - ATM $600 limit per day for me.
I have never heard of an ATM that would let you withdraw that amount. I know my bank puts an $800/day limit on ATM withdrawals.
I see that my bank has an $500 daily limit. But it must be more for business accounts as I’ve taken out more than that. I couldn’t find out what my limit is online.
I closed my accounts and changed banks.
I’m guessing the limit includes retail register and on-line purchases too. Not just cash?
Most atms are set with a max of 40 bills/day.
I’ll guess they found one that dispenses $100’s-
hitting it before and after midnight.
Otherwise the story is not making sense to me.
It’s Manhattan. 2 grand probably won’t pay your cab fare.
Hey, according to the DOI ... II mean DOJ it’s only white supremacists that are a threat to law and order in this country not “people of color”...
Well at least they didn’t use guns ... that could be dangerous.
MY ATM is limited to $500 or $800 in a 24 hour period. Can’t imagine someone could get $8k from their’s.
