While it is an accurate summary of Russia’s conquest history, I think the conclusion that democracy is impossible is a flawed conclusion.
If we look at strong democracies today, a few hundred years ago, those places were not democracies.
The culture can change.
I admit I despair when I talk to Russians who live in Germany and have lived there 15+ years who are highly educated, yet still support the imperialist mindset.

The grotesque Zelensky regime has no support for human rights, you can see they made this video as repulsive as they possibly could.
Biden approves, and the USA is paying for it all. All the torture, all the religous persecution, the sanctioning of opposition political parties. Biden and regime supporters are mute on all this.
Undoubtedly many suppot arresting opposition candidates and politicians.
The Biden regime seems to be learning the mechanics of repression from their client Zelenskyy.
One can already see the same tactics being applied domestically by the Biden junta.
As you'd expect Reverend Mother and other Ukrainian fan-bois are silent about it all.
