“Why? Because the Putinistas think this is “Zelenskyy’s war” or that “if Zelenskyy is gone, this war will end” — and I’m telling you it is nothing like that - this is Putin’s war v/s ordinary Ukrainian people”
“if Zelenskyy is gone, this war will end”
No. I absolutely agree with your position. Just as if George Washington had died we would still have fought the American Revolution for national freedom.
I totally admire the people of Ukraine for their great courage to face this invasion of their homeland by Putin and their resiliency to meet the consequences of to the personal destruction for families, communities and government infrastructure.
Also, consideration must be given to appreciate or ‘lionize’ President Zelenskyy for his important leadership. The demands of his presidency must address all internal infrastructure as well as direct the dynamic change for Ukraine transition into the a new international political position. His presidency incorporates a most ‘dynamic political war on ‘two fronts.’
Those detractors that would twist the concept of freedom for Ukraine by Ukrainians will continue to disparage their fight for freedom. Their only to function as distractors from the cause of this military invasion: Putin.
I agree
Mega-apology for the errors of my hastily written comment.
I just returned from my household errands.
Also, I think I need lunch! LOL
“About lionizing people.”
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
I understand you both.
Here are the 3 most lionized people one the planet right now: Trump, Zelezny, Putin. Nothing weird about that in my view. The three of them are representatives for millions of people.
If I say “Zelensky” it’s just a word/symbol used instead of saying “the ukrainian people” every time. It’s easier.
Besides, Zelensky won the presidential elections in a spectacular landslide with 73%...(!) , and that was BEFORE the war. Now, evidently, he has near unanimous support in Ukraine. So he has been “lionized” by the Ukrainian votes already, so to speak.
For the anecdote:
Trump and Zelensky are the same breed:
They both had TV shows and were comedians for a while, are both anti-politicians and anti-system, are both anti-swamp and anti-corruption. Both had never been into politics before becoming presidents! Just like Trump, Zelenski won the presidential elections on his anti-corruption agenda.
Draining the swamp are top priorities for both of them, and Zelensky has been acting hard against corrupt ukrainian politicians. In America we should do the same.
One thing is for sure:
Right in the beginning of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, (which was started without war declaration in the most deceitful and crooked way) it really looked beyond hopeless for the Ukrainians.
Biden offered to exfiltrate Zelesky in absolute urgency.
At that point it looked like Russia had already won.
However, Zelensky responded saying, “I don’t need a ride, I need more ammunition!” It shocked the entire word, and stunned Russia.
That alone made Russia’s blixt-krieg a dud. A war that was supposed to be finished in 7 days, weakening whole Europe and America in the process, transformed itself into NATO’s resurrection and massive expansion instead. All thanks to Putin.
Is Putin NATO’S useful idiot?
