“The 40-year-old, known as Zhanna D’Art online, passed away on July 21 reportedly from a ‘cholera-like infection’...

People are focusing on her diet and ignoring her CHOLERA which is a bacterial infection of the intestine that kills by diarrhea and dehydration. It’s mostly a 3rd world disease and is spread by feces contaminated drinking water. These days it’s easily treated with antibiotics and intravenous hydration. Cholera is extremely rare in the U.S.. I wonder where she bought her fruit and if she had any migrant friends?

[that kills by diarrhea and dehydration]

Yeah, but that’s the point. Her condition was severely-weakened by her life style. She had no margin for error to survive it (would be my guess).

I’ve been through the diarrhea and dehydration at least a couple of times. First time I’m absolutely convinced it came from the water (small river trip). Some sort of infection from the water during a canoe mishap (as often happens when it’s rocky - downed trees, etc.)

Messed me up substantially for at least 6 months and many of the effects lasted for years (about 2-3). I could no longer consume dairy (milk, ice cream) without reactions. I fought it back and those eventually stabilized.

But yeah, boy did I LOSE weight during those periods (I had forgotten that I once had a flat stomach).

Should not have gone back to my old eating habits. Oops.

The article didn’t say she had cholera. It said she had a “cholera-like infection”. Most likely a gut bacteria imbalance that caused sever diarrhea.

People of any means in such places typically use vegetable and fruit washes to decontaminate their produce. It is common in Mexico and places further south.

Probably travelled, like many cute “influencers (paid for by johns)” to third world s holes and got cholera.

In the 2nd paragraph it says she was living in SE Asia. She was the migrant, as it were.
