Man rams into enlistment office and sets it on fire in St. Petersburg

A man in the Russian city of ST. PETERSBURG has rammed into the gates of a military enlistment office and tried to burn it down. He claims that the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) has incited him to do it.

DETAILS: Fontanka with reference to witnesses reports that a man tried to set a military enlistment office on the Chaikovsky Street, 55, in the evening. Then, he rammed into the yard gate on a VAZ vehicle. The police encircled the military enlistment office and checked whether there was an explosive inside the vehicle.
The driver of the VAZ vehicle has been detained. His psychological state is “questionable”.

It was revealed later that the detainee is a 53-year old St. Petersburg native, who has not been convicted before and resides with his mother 10 km away from the enlistment office. He claims that two weeks ago, a stranger who introduced himself as a member of the FSB texted him on WhatsApp messenger. He suggested that he “conduct an action” in order to gain access to the documents that, as he claimed, are allegedly being sent from the enlistment office to Ukraine.
Reportedly, the wooden doors have not been seriously damaged.
