Fell about 5’ and twisted an ankle. Didn’t make any headlines.

"Haste makes waste."

TRUE STORY: An eternity ago (1964 to be specific), when I was in third grade, my school (amazingly) allowed me to go across the street to my home for lunch each day - as long as I returned before the bell stopped ringing.

One such day, as I was about to rush back to class, I realized I had a major need to visit the bathroom, which caused me to barely make it back to class just as the bell went silent.

As I sat there in class, sweating and trying to catch my breath from my run, I began to laugh uncontrollably. I think it was the hardest I ever laughed in my life, until this very day almost 60 years later. I laughed so hard that my sides started to ache - so hard that I just about fell out onto the floor.

Of course the teacher asked me what was so funny, and between laughs I told of my lunch break, and the need to visit the bathroom. But, as I approached the conclusion of my story, I could hardly speak from the laughing.

Finally ... between gasps .. I shouted to the class ... "Waste ... makes ... haste!"

I'm smiling now as I recount the story.

The “graphic photos” would have included “hits” from intervening objects, such as parked cars.

My information comes ðiŕectly from a Medical Examiner in the case of a young skydiver, whose parachute sadly didn’t open.

Landed in a field. I worked the case in my years with Miami CSI.
