I’m no military expert, but it just seems common sense that if you’re the weaker combatant, you don’t “show off” your weapons anywhere but in battle. What’s the point? How is it helpful to let the world know what you’ve got?

Israel doesn’t do this. They “show off” when they’re undertaking actual operations. Maybe a few years after, they boast and gloat, but definitely not before.

These things have been in use for many months, several of them inside Sebastopol Harbor. No doubt the Russians have captured one already.

This one just seems a bit bigger and faster. I doubt its to the level of a critical secret.

Maybe they mean to keep the Russians from approaching to inspection range of vessels near the Uke coast, or maybe its to reassure their own people.

It's Information Warfare.

Not saying it's the case here, but IW is useful when a weapon system's bark is worse than its bite. Also works to demonstrate a capability that you want the world to notice. It's especially useful for the weaker side because it's meant to show that they're "still in the fight", and thus worthy of support by their allies and fear by their enemies.

The US uses IW in many ways. For example, in a buildup to military action, press releases will focus on seemingly every step of the buildup. The arrival of a Carrier Battle Group, B-2s forward deploying, arrival of well-known combat units like the 82nd Airborne, etc. It may seem monotonous, or even a breach of OPSEC to see it play out in the news, but it's intended to weaken the resolve of an opponent.

Our military even has courses on Information Warfare.

Do remember the corrupted little comedian Z is just that, a “:Hollywood” learned comedian, telegraphing that information gives the people of Ukraine some kind of desperately needed hope.

Things have been going very badly for them since June 4th, the eight week old offensive has very little to show for it ( only heaps of destroyed western equipment) …..he announced yesterday moving the famous Kraken Brigade into the Artymovsk sector ( Bakmut), ….if Artymovsk was never important, ( as stated by the western MSM) why are they trying to regain it?
