Retired Navy Cmdr. David Fravor was commander of an F/A-18F Super Hornet squadron aboard the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz on Nov. 14, 2004, when he piloted one of two Super Hornets that came across a Tic Tac-shaped aircraft. At the time, the Nimitz was about 100 miles southwest of San Diego.
The crew of the two Super Hornets was told that unidentified objects had been observed for over two weeks, during which they had rapidly descended from 80,000 feet to 20,000 feet, loitered for several hours, and then returned to extremely high altitudes, Fravor told a House Oversight subcommittee on Wednesday.
“For those who don’t realize, above 80,000 feet is space,” Fravor said during Wednesday’s hearing on “Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena,” or UAP, a recently coined term for unidentified objects in the air and underwater.
The Super Hornets’ pilots and weapon systems officers all saw a Tic Tac object moving abruptly above the ocean without any visible wings or propulsion system, Fravor said. As his plane got closer to the object, it quickly accelerated and disappeared. An air controller quickly told Fravor that the object had been detected 60 miles away less than a minute after the Super Hornets had lost contact with it.

Assuming the Tic Tac was a physical object and not some sort of projection, no human pilot could survive the G-forces caused by how quickly it moved and maneuvered, retired Lt. Cmdr. Alex Dietrich, who piloted the other Super Hornet involved in the incident, told Task & Purpose on Thursday.
With the known technology that the United States and its adversaries possess, an aircraft can either be as fast as a jet or as maneuverable as a helicopter – Dietrich said after the hearing.
“You can’t go supersonic and turn on a dime,” said Dietrich, who currently teaches engineering at the University of Colorado, Boulder. “The flight control surfaces, the propulsion required, they’re incompatible in our current configurations, in our current technology, with the fuel we have, with the materials that we have. And so, what we saw that day was something that was hovering like a helicopter and then intravenously accelerating, turning on a dime, not requiring the full turning radius that we require in our strike fighters or advanced jets. That’s why it was so confusing to us in the moment and seemed to defy what we know and expect to be laws of physics and limitations of capabilities.”

I'm leaning that way myself.
That’s the same error of hubris that people like yourself have made in the past saying things like:
If God wanted man to fly He’d give us wings!
You can’t fly in space because there’s nothing to push against.
Everything that can be invented has been invented.
No one will ever need their own computer.
Japan would never attack Pearl Harbor.
Aircraft are useless against battleships.
Trump can’t win an election.
Etc.
I didn’t say you were a climate nazi. I said your unwillingness to accept that our understanding of the laws of physics might not be complete, the ‘science is settled’ argument was the one used by climate nazis to squelch dissent or disagreement.
“conservation of energy, conservation of mass, conservation of momentum, these are proven laws”
They are the laws we know.
Science is the floor not the ceiling.
Once we discover new laws then the “impossible” can become possible—and we have a new floor.
Scientific breakthroughs happen because there are observations that do not fit the existing paradigm. Instead of dismissing the observers as kooks or instrumentation error real scientists investigate the anomalies and learn from them.
UFOs and strange creatures are examples of those kinds of anomalies. They are a “clue” that science has a lot of work ahead of it.
The old saying is that “science cannot advance until the old scientists die”. The point is that many of the old scientists spend their time defending their work instead of looking at data that does not fit into their model.
The great scientists are challenged by the data that does not fit—and are excited to take it on....
Doesn’t mean its alien science.
Settle down!
;-D Sorry, I couldn't help it.
Very poor analogy, since climate ‘science’ is recent and made up by idiots who twist statistics to there agenda.
That is not at all where I stand. I stand with a scientific method that says you need to prove that laws exist. Show me the proof, not a bunch of hearsay.
Determining what is “ours” and what is “theirs” requires an open evaluation of the evidence.
Imho (fwiw) what we have today is both.
What we had in the 1950s was almost all “theirs”.
Just be wary of quacks, of which history has many.
Yes!! Excellent observation. And UFO photos from 1940 ‘s to today show an evolution from clunky to sleek, a fact that is not compatible with how”unearthly” technology would evolve, ie if these craft traveled here from light years away in the 40’s already how would we have witnessed such an evolution in real time?? Seems to me that they would be very close to same. Clearly these raft parallel our own technological evolution. Perhaps they are a projection of our shared consciousness. Or,more likely, a breaka at civilization here on (in??) earth. But whatever they are, not extraterrestrial. That’s a myth put forth by pop culture
The big issue today is that the “proof” is in highly classified compartmentalized special access government programs.
They (Deep State) are working very hard to hide the evidence.
Some of us are working very hard to uncover it. The best scientists want to see the hidden evidence as well.
Again, not knowing truth is different than denying truth. God created limits. What some of you are saying is there aren’t any as long as we continue to look. Looking is fine as long as it’s well founded, and not wasting resources or being done for the purpose of destroying truths we should already know.
Got to keep the frogs in the pot on the stove entertained.
Giant Tic Tacs - odd imagery.
Of course there are lots of con artists, fakes, disinformation artists etc.
That is why folks need to do a lot of homework before jumping to any conclusions about any particular case or data.
I have been studying the UFO field for decades—that does not mean I know everything, but I do know there is some real “meat” there—and I am convinced that the “laws of physics” have been proven incomplete by advanced technology that currently exists.
“I don’t see anything there that convinces me of beyond human technology.”
I was stationed at Galena In 1985/6 and there was talk at that time of stealth capacity by aircraft coming from Russia. They were just short of calling it a projection but they had radar contact up until the object without tracking data was a good distance away. They didn’t write it off but put the knowledge in the back of the sperry calling it error of the operator and/or mis identification. And that was 40 year ago and could have been two separate aircraft getting on the scopes back to back. I’ve got nothing else to define the technology that at that time was way ahead of science.
But, in keeping with the open mindedness a person should consider when I think of all the worlds out there it is possible something has forged ahead of us in technology and came up with something that could do what is talked about. We have comedy at our house when we watch an alien movie and the stupidity is rampant when the US or Japanese military fires on one of these as they had the technology to get here, they most likely have the technology to waste us. In the movie Battleship, Stone Hopper fired on the ship and you see what they got back. Something to think about.

Show me one peer reviewed scientific journal paper or university paper that supports the real meat you speak of.
Conspiracy theory now. If anything, the deep state is just distracting from their own illegal activities.
I agree.
But the government can say, “Yup, we’ve seen them. Here is what we know. And no, we aren’t going to tell you how we know.”
It’s the silly dance they do that makes people agitated.
Again, I have no idea what these are. I just wish our government would stop being so coy.
I have no clue whether this is “peer reviewed” but I highly recommend this article by a bona fide scientist and “insider” in a variety of secret .gov programs:
