I agree with you. However, the last time I checked, there's 17 million illegal immigrants. Suppose we announce the national guard to round up the illegal immigrants and put them on trucks so we can send them to airports to fly them out. Yeah, that's not going to work.
Little things first. Complete the wall. Focus on border security. And if illegals commit crime in the U.S., round them up.

Yes there are a lot and I agree mostly its impossible to round them all up en masse.
But it is possible to deny them the tools to be here: no SNAP, no cell phones, no driver’s licences, nothing but the basic medical accommodation.
We can let self deportation work.
I do not fool myself into thinking there is the political fortitude to do any of the above. Not to mention black robed activists who warp our laws.
I'm a little bit like Trump. I'll make a deal. Finish building the wall. Increase the number of border patrol agents to monitor the border.
Then I will issue guest worker visas that will be renewed annually. They will have to go back to their country every 12 months to renew the visa. It will encourage them to follow the law. If they break the law, we deport them immediately.
But you're right. It doesn't matter at this point. By the way, most of the illegals flooding our borders are Central Americans and Venezuelans. Not as many Mexicans as there used to be.

Ideally, guest workers will be able to buy second homes in their countries. It will help to develop their countries. And we can encourage them to retire there.
That has been my suggestion. Those that have came to our country illegally since January of 2021 should be given four weeks to leave. After that they would be subject to arrest and detainment for a year before being deported.
Those that have been here since 2015 can be given 90 days. Those here longer than that can be given six months to settle their affairs and arrange their removal. After one year of a law being passed anyone being in our country without appropriate and legal paperwork should be jailed for one year, and then dropped on the other side of the border with instructions that if they are found in our nation again, the penalty will be five years in federal prison consisting of a tent city in Arizona. A second offense would result in life imprisonment since they are apparently to stupid to walk the streets of our nation.

I agree 100% with the colonel. Should have stopped them at the border. With the same force that I’d protect my house with.
Quit paying people to NOT work and you’ll have plenty of workforce. Too many welfare sucking freeloaders are the problem. Unless they have a genuine debilitating health issue, cut them off.

I see there that a person can be deprived of life, liberty, and/or property, with due process of law.
The existence of the death penalty, imprisonment, and forfeiture of assets under existing law support this idea.
Creating another law for asset forteiture upon conviction for a specific crime seems...trivial.
