You know that if a picture is posted and you click on it, it is possible to track you from that.. right?
(Actually able to track even if the picture is just loaded on your PC, but that is above my head.)
LOL - I did not know that. I was guilty of PWD (Posting While Drinking) a few times in my earlier days on here. Fortunately, I never got zotted, but I was sometimes a tad mortified when I read my posts the next morning. 😂

I recently heard of ‘sanitizing URLs’ and Brave has that function. This opsec thing is a big pain in the ass honestly.
If you’re talking about GPS embedding yeah I did know that. There’s also, worst of all, possible GPU ID tracking to your very hardware.

Oh yeah.. I joined up during the 2004 elections (was guided here by SwiftVets for Truth).

GPU ID has been around for a couple of decades. CIA used it all of the time.
Don’t need GPS; a tracker can be put into a picture, and once it is downloaded, it can be traced back to the true IP.

I forgot to mention that practically every piece of hardware has a recognizable ID. Even the hard drives.
Of course, but being able to remotely request that used to be an issue. The GPU thing is that the browser acceleration that’s in general use can be queried remotely and easily.
I think my last PWD was New Year’s Eve 2010/2011 from Baghdad. I was nowhere near being 55 and I was in my living container enjoying some vodka a friend had slipped to me in a water bottle through the mail. (A very common practice over there…) I didn’t have to work the next day (a rarity!) and was playing around on my laptop. I even put up a thread letting everyone back home know that 2011 arrived intact, undamaged and still had that new year smell. I was 8 hours ahead of the east coast, so I felt I should let everyone know.
I rarely have a conversation, just usually post a smart-ass picture to entertain the few of us who get entertained by it.
Many here may not even know I can actually spell! (It’s quite intentional.)
