My buds and I would skip out at noon on Fridays and head down to Freeport, TX to go fishing. I would get home smelling like fish, beer and sweat. Spring of 1980.
Sounds like the elements for a song.
Maybe. One of those guys and I still get together to fish, drink, smoke cigars and tell lies. Our kids are now in their late 20’s. But we still have fun. I have a place in the remote East Texas woods with a lake and cabin. No cell reception and a good 20 minute ride into town. Like the old Willie Nelson song from the 70’s, “good times”.
My sister did & Lynerd Skinnerd. plus PinkFloyd and Led Zepelin. I had Aerosmith, Elton John, and Supertramp.

Those concerts back then were awesome.
That and my working in industrial plants for 40 years have diminished my hearing, but it was worth it.
I got one, too. Seven miles southeast of Palestine. Anderson County.
But we have cell service in some places. Useful for checking TTU scores from the deer stand.
Supertramp. really?
The most annoying song of all time is by Supertramp, and it is called "The Logical Song".
1979
We were so cool back then!
We’d park in the school parking lot leaving guns in headache racks with the windows rolled down and no one ever thought about bothering them. Yep, no school shootings.
Notice no one is getting beat down with the hockey sticks. No indication of gang punks pulling girls behind the bleachers trying to rape them.
2nd Concert: Pink Floyd APR 30 1977 at Jeppesen Stadium, Houston, TX, USA Tour: In the Flesh
Found a great searchable website for Concert Information.
The site has all kinds of information and features like: Start times, Set lists, "I was there" Link to count people who attended the event. Also can listen to the songs and more.
The list for Me is extensive and includes: Led Zeppelin, Jethro Tull, Fleetwood Mac, Black Sabbath/Ozzie, Cheap Trick, Van Halen (x 5), Rush (x4), Genisis, Boston, Little Feat (x3), ZZ Top, Peter Frampton, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Ted Nugent , Styx, Supertramp, Foghat, Jeff Beck, Kansas, Chicago, Elton John, Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, Crosby/Stills/Nash and Young, Foreigner, Emmerson/Lake and Palmer, Yes, Kiss, The Who, Frank Zappa (x3), TO BE CONTINUED. I know that there's more but can't remember them right now.

I gave one to Mom for Mothers Day so She could get her Religious Station in the car. (Darned thing would also find KLOL 101FM in Houston when I was driving it to work on the weekends.)
And I want the Jensen 6 x 9’s back also !!!
That was on my album. I loved “Give a Little Bit.” Not sure if that was the actual title. Actually, I loved the whole album.
And the Pioneer Supertuner Cassette unit.
Bump for later as I was a sophomore in high school that year - with Peter Frampton length hair.
Sorry. Someone stole the FM converted the same time they stole my CB radio.
Bummer, dude.
Was that an actual Maverick in the parking lot? It’s been so long since I’ve seen one...
In 1977 I was on a nuke site in Turkey that didn’t exist.
