“You miss or avoid the obvious.”

It is not at all obvious, to put it plainly. Spell it out.

“the original poster daily and over months points to the click bait of one consistent monetized channel.”

And a bunch of other Ukraine vloggers. Another updates Oryx daily. Etc.

And others consistently point to (or did) the monetized “clickbait” of Rush Limbaugh or the Daily Mail or the NY Post or even the NYT, WaPo, Politico or npr. We wouldnt have much on FR without that.

Clever fellow.

You obviously don't make a distinction between actual and oft-quoted news sources, and "mom's" obsession with one, which seems her "daily bread."

Absent Davydov, there would be much -- almost everything -- on Free Republic. But without the beloved Denys the opening gambit of UMCrevmom's daily thread would evaporate. And without the Netherlands' ORYX, speedy's would as well.

Meanwhile Free Republic would be stuffed to the gills with articles enough for all.

I think your objection is entirely about your loyalties to a side in the Ukraine war. The rest of your arguments (and tone) are disingenuous.

Hello everyone from a new day of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. The counter- offensive of the Ukrainian army continues unabated in four sectors of the front line.
The Russian army, which has suffered heavy losses, is having difficulty standing up to the Ukrainian army.
The phenomenon of war, which has become even more chaotic with technological developments, has become even more pronounced in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. We will examine the latest situation on the front line on the map in a moment. I would like to note that we will often mention the Ukrainian artillery and their outstanding achievements in our map analysis report. If you’re ready, let’s get started.

Let’s start our map analysis today with the latest situation south of the front line. In our recent reports, we often state that the tension on the Crimean peninsula has reached a high level. Now let’s focus on the Crimean peninsula.

As you can see, this peninsula has the geographical potential to become an important base of Ukraine on the Black Sea. In addition, Ukraine has the opportunity to establish a dominant area in the sea of Azov thanks to the Crimean peninsula. When we look at the western side of the Crimean peninsula, you see Odessa, which is a very important commercial port for Ukraine.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine have two important objectives here. The first is to end the Russian occupation of the Crimean peninsula, which has been going on since 2014. The other goal is to establish a stronger line of defense against the Russian threat in the region after liberating the Crimean peninsula.

--- "I think your objection is entirely about your loyalties to a side in the Ukraine war. The rest of your arguments (and tone) are disingenuous."

I think....

My loyalty is to these United States of America, and my concern about my nation is for its massively rising debt, standing now at well above $32,00,000,000,000.00. For this debt -- about an additional $27 trillion added in only 22 years -- is lunacy. Spending any of it on the "not my circus and not my clowns" war is my issue. Let the thugs on both sides fight to whenever with whatever and "time will tell."

It has been the debate strategy of the pro-Z -- which is a government of a national entity, and not necessarily synonymous with it -- types to play the "there are only two possible choices" game. And if you are not for us, you are for the other side. BS.

As to the notion that a government is wholly and always synonymous with a nation, that is spurious. Governments throughout the 20th century have changed from one leadership to another. Whether by ballots, safe or harvested, or even by a Nicolae Ceaușescu moment, nations and governments are demonstrably not synonymous with a people or peoples.

You play the "disingenuous" game. The meaning is usually the gambit of play "typically by pretending that one knows less about something than one really does."

I document the Davydov YouTube data. His blog is the daily bread of 'your' "reverend." You complain about it being mentioned or documented. But since it's come up....

Davydov has been operating his YouTube channel since Apr 20, 2014, as documented, and has since long before the war now amassed a million bucks USD.

Putin is not synonymous with Russia, Zelensky is not synonymous with Ukraine, Pedro Sánchez Pérez-Castejón is not wholly synonymous with Spain. And sure as hell, Joseph Robinette Biden is not synonymous with these United States of America. I look forward to a time soon when he is no longer in office.

Disagree? Then you are living in Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE) Spain, so you must be a socialist? But I don't play the "adjacent to" game of the Left.

Even so and yet again, congratulations again on the Big Thumb Award on this thread.

“Putin is not synonymous with Russia”

True, statement.

I have good Russian Christian friends living in U.S. and in Russia.

IMO, Putin may ‘own’ the Russian Orthodox Church but he is very far from “synonymous” with the faith-filled Christians I know. The Russian people are trapped as slaves in his evil empire

I have an interest in history and here we have history proceeding in real time.

I remember following the Six-day war in the newspapers and “Time” magazine, back when I was a boy. It fascinated me, and started me as a lifelong news junkie.

Same diff today. What’s your excuse?

You still haven’t said why you became a “news junkie”.

Nor who or what you are. What’s your story?

28 Jul: Point of no return. RUSSIAN FORCES GOT TRAPPED | War in Ukraine Explained

Reporting from Ukraine

⚠️ Watch RFU in 18+ languages: https://www.youtube.com/@RFU/channels

I am Ukrainian. My country has been invaded by Russia. In this video I will tell you what happened on the five hundred twentieth day of the war.

Day 520: Jul 28

Today there are a lot of updates from the Velyka Novosilka direction.

FIRST OF ALL, more information became available about the storming operation that took place in Staromaiorske, as Ukrainian marines from the 35th Marine Brigade finally released more combat footage. After Russian troops were forced out of the outer edge of the village with intense artillery fire, Ukrainians immediately got a toehold and started clearing the houses. After establishing positions, Ukrainians started applying pressure on the Russians in the southern part of the village. The main goal was to wait until the second group conducted a flank attack from the hills and left Russians with only two options: retreat or get cut off from the rest. In the meantime, a tough tank battle took place on the hills. As reported last time, Ukrainians destroyed a lot of Russian tanks and armored fighting vehicles prior to this attack, but as Ukrainians got deep into the region, they faced more armored vehicles.

TODAY RUSSIAN SOURCES reported that Ukrainians had already launched the next phase of the operation, namely, storming Urozhaine. Right now, Urozhaine is in a salient, and Russians have significant issues with providing supplies to the soldiers on the ground. Moreover, if we look at the topographic map, we can see that, like all other settlements along the river, Urozhaine is located in the lowlands, while Ukrainians are holding positions on the hills around this settlement. Russian sources reported that Ukrainians attacked with several assault units reinforced with 2 armored fighting vehicles. Russian analysts concluded that the attacks will definitely intensify, and Urozhaine may fall within the next 48 hours.

THE FALL OF UROZHAINE will allow Ukrainians to push the front line a little south and get close to Kremenchuk. Even though some analysts predicted that the next Ukrainian targets are Kremenchuk and Novodonetske, it is highly unlikely that Ukrainians will devote a significant amount of forces to this offensive effort. First of all, Novodonetske is protected by the river from one side and by the gully from another side, which makes it very difficult to attack. Kremenchuk is located on the hill, making it difficult to attack in front, and even if Ukrainians try to move around it, they will put themselves at the crossfire. It is more likely that Ukrainians will focus on establishing control over the eastern bank, and establishing fire control over the settlements on the western bank, aggravating Russian problems with supplies and logistics, and setting conditions for an attack on Zavitne Bazhannia and Staromlynivka.

AS YOU MAY HAVE NOTICED, Staromlynivka is surrounded by 2 rivers. And even though one of the rivers is actually a gully with several swamps, such a setting still presents limitations when planning an assault. Nonetheless, storming the settlement itself may not be necessary if Ukrainians take all the heights around it. This way, Russian forces will appear in operational encirclement and, with no prospects of changes, will abandon the town as quickly as possible.

UKRAINIANS UNDERSTAND THIS, and this is exactly what they are trying to realize right now. Today Russian sources reported that Ukrainians resumed their attacks in the direction of Pryiutne, but what is more important is that they launched their attacks between Rivnopil and Staromaiorske. By developing their bridgehead further, Russians in Pryiutne will appear in operational encirclement and will have to step back. If previously they still counted on holding this settlement, then after the fall of Staromairske, it is just a matter of time until their defense is undermined to the point where it automatically collapses further down the line.

IN THE MEANTIME, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky visited the southern line and held a meeting with Ukrainians generals. Zelensky congratulated Commander-in-chief Valery Zaluzhny on his recent birthday and gifted him a personalized firearm, and also congratulated Commander of the Ground Forces Oleksandr Syrsky, who also had a birthday several days ago, and gifted him a painting. Shortly after the headquarter meeting, the generals returned to the front to continue overseeing the counteroffensive operation.
