It is the job of Congress to decide if they want to release that information—if they keep it secret they are to blame.
Nothing new here. Witnesses are always lying to Congress.
Oh, he said he will indeed do exactly that, but not to the general public. His information is to be provided to only Congressmen who have appropriate clearances.
