I debated about posting this song, since Cougar Mellencamp, is such a big leftist, but 40 years later, this song seems appropo, for the news events that happened today, plus he does a pretty good Michael Jackson dancing imitation in the video.

Springsteen was the “next Dylan.” John Cougar/Mellencamp was the “next Springsteen.” Nobody ended up being the next anything. Cougar/Mellencamp is more likely to put out a decent song now than the other two, but that’s not saying much.
