An ex-Department of Defense (DoD) official made some out-of-this-world claims about UFOs on Monday.
Christopher Mellon, a former deputy assistant secretary of defense for intelligence and Senate staffer, told NewsNation host Chris Cuomo that a congressional hearing scheduled for Wednesday provides an “opportunity” to better understand the issue from credible sources.

Planned by a House Oversight subcommittee, the hearing on unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAPs) is set to feature testimony from two former Navy pilots who claim to have witnessed mysterious flying objects that appear to defy the laws of physics while participating in training exercises.
Also announced as a witness was David Grusch, a U.S. military and intelligence veteran who has gone public with allegations about crafts of non-human origin being retrieved and kept from Congress.
Lending some credence to Grusch’s assertions about a cover-up, Mellon said he has been told that “we have recovered technology that did not originate on this earth by officials in the Department of Defense and by former intelligence officials,” some of whom he has referred “to the office that is undertaking this investigation.”
Mellon also said he expects Grusch “will provide some new information that we have not heard before” at the hearing, but he stressed that Grusch is limited by law in what he can reveal, including identifying intelligence personnel who may be involved in the matter.

I posted the same sort of thing the other day. We are faced with a ton of serious problems. Yet Congress is focused on flying saucers. I can’t decide if they’re stupid or if they’re trying to distract us on purpose.
A Freeper responded to me there, and said there might be a slice of value in this investigation. Air Force pilots have seen unidentified aircraft, not from outer space but perhaps from another country. Sort of like the Chinese balloon thing. Hostile reconnaissance that the White House doesn’t want to admit.
We shall see. But I suspect the investigation will turn into a farce. Ignore the real possibility of hostile reconnaissance, and focus instead on little green men from Mars.
No doubt. But both men, while being both imaginative and at times mystical, were rational men. They did not take fairy tales seriously and would not subject themselves to nonsense. Rational people behave in a similar manner. Would love to canvass the Chairpersons of the Department of Physics from America’s 25 best universities and ask if any of them would state that UFOs are mechanical and biological entities originating from 50 to 100 light years away.
Maybe the “aliens” can help us with our deep state problem...???

Except Einstein’s Special & General Relativity have both been tested in the laboratory and by observation and so far, it holds up. It explains physical behaviors and current discoveries both in optical & radio astronomy. Whoever or however its overturned is a very tall hill to climb!
Folks who have studied the topic know the names of at least some of the contractors involved—it is a close match to the largest defense companies.
Some sources indicate that the large construction companies who built deep underground military bases may have some of the secrets as well.
When the mass media tells you the action is “up there” the rule of opposites says that most of it is probably underground.
Within these companies there is very intense compartmentalization—most employees would have no clue what is happening.

One thing to keep in mind is that the Manhattan Project that created the atomic bomb was done in total secrecy.
Einstein himself discussed wormholes as theoretically possible (Einstein-Rosen bridge).
All the rest is developing new technologies—totally doable given enough time for advances.

Seriously, it is amazing that most people do not have any interest in these events. However, the average guy probably knows that the Yankees and Red Sox both suck this year.
All these disclosures about UFOs/UAPs the last couple years ever since the Naval Aviators were allowed to come forward is leading up to something. IMHO they are preparing the world for something they know is coming. Either that or they are going to fake an alien invasion to shut down the world again and institute Martial Law.

Kinda like a manufacturer of widgets not knowing what their widget is going to be used on. They just make the widgets and someone buys them.

I was thinking the same. Great leaps in knowledge usually come from university research labs, and not from the government. So I’m guessing an astrophysicist would just love to publish a paper proving the existence of alien visitation. Then it’s Nobel Prize time.
That no paper has been published says something, to me at least.

I know those equations well! Math says a t lot of things, only experiment says if they are true!
The history of science gives us a clue—math tells us what is possible and then given enough time the physics and then technology catch up....
If the math says it is possible it is possible.
