I would go with doing my own, as I am a EE, but I am not a licensed electrical contractor, so working with the utility company to turn off and inject the switch isn’t an option, so if someone else has to do that part, might as well get them to do the whole job, and I really don’t have the time for it anyway. If I were off-grid, then I would easily get an Isuzu. Great machines.

Here we are ag zoned, so many exemptions from stuff when agriculture property is involved.

Aren’t homeowners allowed to do their own work ?

Get them to pull the meter. I’ve pulled mine myself, but most states have written laws that allow utilities TO FINE YOU cause you are suspected of stealing electric. Broken world we live in.

An EE is more qualified than most electricians. I have/had the FCC radiotelephone license back in the 80s.
