Biden investigation: Democrats make play to discredit FBI bribery document
Washington Examiner ^ | 7/24/23 | Reese Gorman

Posted on 07/25/2023 2:46:12 AM PDT by Libloather

Democratic staff on the House Oversight and Accountability Committee sent a memo to committee Democrats giving a play-by-play guide to rebut some of the allegations made in the FD-1023 form that alleges Hunter Biden and then Vice President Joe Biden were involved in a foreign bribery scheme.

The FBI-generated FD-1023 tip sheet was released last week by Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) and has been a focal point of the House Oversight Committee’s investigation led by Chairman James Comer (R-KY). In the document, a confidential human source alleges to an FBI informant that both Bidens were paid $5 million by Mykola Zlochevsky, the head of Burisma, a Ukrainian energy company where Hunter Biden sat on the board, to pressure the Ukrainian government to fire Viktor Shokin, a prosecutor who was allegedly investigating Burisma.

While the allegations are unverified, Republican members of the committee see it as a key part of their investigation into the Bidens’ foreign business dealings.

“Given the misconduct and politicization at the Department of Justice, the American people must be able to read this record for themselves,” Comer said in a statement at the time of the FD-1023’s release. “I thank Senator Grassley for providing much-needed transparency to the American people. We must hold the Department of Justice accountable for seeking to bury this record to protect the Bidens.”

In the memo, which the Washington Examiner obtained, the Democratic staff on the committee pushed back on the Republicans’ decision to publicly release the document and alleged that it is full of already debunked “conspiracy theories.”

In all fairness, RATS did the very same thing for Trump. My recollection isn't what it used to be.

The DemocRATS are the very essence of faithless actors. They will say anything or do anything, frequently unethically, to advance ultimate control over the United States of America. To me, it looks like their objective is a Marxist communist state; once the Useful Idiots in the press and DemocRAT party are neutralized.

GUIDE TO MOCKINGBIRD TERMS:

Debunked = factual.

Denied = confirmed.

Republican pounce = democrats broke the law.

Seriousness of the charges = prosecutor is making things up.

No evidence = tons of evidence but FBI has been sitting on it for years.

“full of already debunked “conspiracy theories.”

This is an oft used scandal control tactic out of the Democrat playbook. It implies that the crime is old news that has been disproven before. The proper response is debunked by whom? When? How?

Democrats have decided that house committee hearings are a “clown show”. Crazy Nancy could hardly repeat her lines the other day.

You have to admit, the demoncraps really know how to coordinate and unify around their own. You don’t see them breaking ranks and virtue signaling like the RINOs do to sandbag every single Republican effort.

FBI and DOJ have lost all credibility. Are the democrats admitting to the corruption by questioning the documents’ credibility. The snake is eating itself. Great to finally see this. What a bunch of corrupt morons.

No. How can the democrats claim the memo defines a “conspiracy theory” when Biden himself used his speech to identify HIMSELF as the ONE PERSON who stood up (to Russia) by forcing this prosecutor to resign. Biden merely hid the fact that he (and Hunter) were being paid to get the prosecutors investigating Burisma (and his son’s corruption) to fired.

New Details: It’s Looking Even Worse for the Bidens...and the FBI
Townhall ^ | Jul 24, 2023 | Guy Benson
Posted on 7/24/2023, 7:47:13 PM by upchuck

On Friday, we analyzed a just-released FBI ‘FD-1023’ document, in which a trusted FBI informant asserted that executives from Burisma — the Ukrainian energy company that famously employed then-Vice President Joe Biden’s son, despite his dearth of relevant expertise, while the elder Biden was running point on Ukraine policy in the Obama administration — had described a multimillion-dollar bribery scheme that enriched both of the aforementioned Bidens.

The Bureau’s confidential human source (CHS) told investigators that the Burisma leaders held a dim view of Hunter Biden’s personal value and intellect, but kept the generous payments flowing to him because Hunter would “take care of all of those issues through his dad.” The function of the younger Biden, the company’s CFO reportedly said, was “to protect us, through his dad, from all kinds of problems.”

The Federalist's Margot Cleveland immediately noted that the Confidential Human Source's account directly contradicted Biden's explanation for triggering the firing, writing that the Burisma executive's alleged statement to the CHS "proves significant because Joe Biden had long claimed he pushed for Shokin’s firing because Shokin was not investigating Burisma — which is the exact opposite of the details summarized in the FD-1023."

The FD-1023 includes a recollection from the CHS, who said Burisma bigwigs weren't concerned about the claimed $10 million in bribery funds ever being discovered because
<> they "did not send funds directly to “the big guy” (a reference to Joe Biden?),
<>and that the payments to the Bidens had been routed through so many companies and bank accounts that it would take investigators ten years to trace the payments to Joe Biden."

House Oversight Committee Republicans have produced bank records showing millions of dollars in foreign (largely Chinese) money flowing to nine different Biden family members through an intricate series of some 22 shell corporations -- quite possibly underscoring a modus operandi, at the very least.

FBI Told Delaware U.S. Attorney Weiss It Had Already
Partially Corroborated Biden Bribery Claims, Source Says
The Federalist ^ | 07/24/2023 | Margot Cleveland
FR Posted on 7/24/2023, 12:54:46 PM by SeekAndFind

FBI agents told the Delaware U.S. attorney’s office they had already corroborated multiple details in the FD-1023, a source told The Federalist.

When the Pittsburgh FBI office briefed the Delaware U.S. attorney’s office on evidence implicating Hunter and Joe Biden in a bribery scheme, the agents also told the Delaware team they had already corroborated several aspects of the confidential human source’s claims, an individual familiar with the briefing told The Federalist.

On Thursday, Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, released the FD-1023 summary of a confidential human source’s reporting that the Ukrainian oil and gas company Burisma paid Hunter and Joe Biden each $5 million in bribes so the then-Vice President would “protect” Burisma “from all kinds of problems.”

Those bribes were in addition to the more than $4 million in total paid to Hunter Biden and his business partner Devon Archer for sitting on Burisma’s board of directors.

The Federalist has now learned that the Pittsburgh FBI office had corroborated several details contained in the FD-1023 as part of the intake process that former Attorney General William Barr established before the election under the leadership of the Western District of Pennsylvania’s then-U.S. Attorney Scott Brady.

Significantly, in briefing the Delaware U.S. attorney on the results of their office’s screening of evidence related to Ukraine, the Pittsburgh FBI agents told the Delaware office they had corroborated multiple facts included in the FD-1023, an individual with knowledge of the briefing told The Federalist.

MARGOT CLEVELAND.....Weiss’ Delaware office remains mum, however, not even pretending to have investigated the FD-1023’s allegations. That failure is even more scandalous now that we know Pittsburgh had already corroborated several aspects of the CHS’s reporting and briefed Weiss’s office on the corroborating evidence.

Yet the Biden White House continues to falsely claim the FD-1023 charges “have been debunked for years.” On the contrary, the only thing debunked to date has been the lies of Biden’s Democrat apologists, such as Ranking Member of the House Oversight Committee Jamie Raskin, who doubled down on his claim that Barr had found the FD-1023 not credible and not meriting further investigation.

Americans now know.......not only that Raskin and his Democrat colleagues lied....... but that President Joe Biden lied — both when he said he (1) “knew nothing” of his son’s business ventures, and, (2) in claiming now that the FD-1023 has been debunked.

They should get Adam Schiff out in front of the cameras. If he instinctively went to his Trump talking points he would suddenly be telling the truth.

REALITY CHECK
‘The FBI is the Place Where Evidence Goes to Die’:
Expose of Biden Bribery Doc’s Cover-Up
Trending Politics News. ^ | July 23, 2023 | Kyle Becker
Posted on 7/24/2023, 10:21:25 AM by george76

Constitutional attorney Jonathan Turley, a George Washington law professor known for his liberal views, expressed his shock that the FBI hid an FD-1023 informant document corroborating investigators’ findings that Joe and Hunter Biden appear to have benefited from an international bribery scheme.

Turley appeared on Fox News Sunday with Shannon Bream and brilliantly laid out why the FBI’s reluctance to release the lightly redacted document to the public is so problematic.

Transcript follows below:

BREAM: The FD-1023 form that Senator Grassley released, the FBI was not happy about that. They said that it actually could create danger and safety issues for the human informant, the confidential source that came forward. It alleges a number of conversations with Burisma executives out of Ukraine, saying allegedly that they were forced to pay the binds a certain amount of money for help with various issues. These are unverified allegations, but we have seen people in Washington, the Steele dossier comes to mind, run with unverified allegations and that launching a number of investigations.

So this 1023 form, former Attorney General Barr, told me on this show a few weeks ago that it was sent to Delaware to the Weiss investigation that was already open. So I asked this latest whistleblower, Joseph Ziegler, if he ever saw that form as part of his investigation as the IRS agent on this case.

Here’s what he told me: “I had never seen that document before, so I had never seen that 1023. And the reason why that 1023 might have been important is that can further validate some other evidence that we are trying to prove in the case. And that’s why all information is necessary for especially the lead IRS case agent to have.”

BREAM: Jonathan, can you assess why that didn’t land in his desk during this investigation that took five years?

...

TURLEY: No. They also testified that they were denied the ability to be debriefed on what was coming out of the FBI on this issue. And Bill Barr said that he sent this issue originally to Pittsburgh and the US Attorney’s office, rather than the FBI, found additional information that the FBI did not. And then they sent it to Delaware.

And it increasingly it seems like the FBI is the place where evidence goes to die. I mean, people, you send evidence to the FBI, if it has the name Biden on it it dies of very rapid death. And so we have no idea why this was not shared.

The key about that 1023 is that it mirrors perfectly what the House committees have found. It describes how the Bidens preferred to use a labyrinth of accounts and banks to hide payments that no payments would go to what it refers to as ‘the big guy,’ a term we’ve seen on the laptop. And that this was all an effort to conceal these transactions.

That’s exactly what the committees have found in looking at the transactions from these banks. So there’s no reason why this would be withheld because it confirmed independent information that they had access to.

The FBI’s withholding of compelling evidence that the President of the United States may be compromised by foreign powers and stands plausibly accused of committing high crimes and misdemeanors that compromised U.S. national security is as inexplicable as it is indefensible.
