The Based and Hilarious Reason Gen Z Bros Are Flocking to see the New Barbie Flick

It’s hilarious to see woke Millennials praising Barbie as a feminist icon. For the entirety of my Gen X lifespan, feminists have hated Barbie with the burning intensity of a thousand suns. Her figure was unrealistic! Mattel’s attempts to make her a career woman were patronizing! She was too blond and pretty!

But now, all of sudden, Barbie is a feminist icon. The new “Barbie” movie is a stylized fantasy in which the patriarchy is alive and well, and Barbie must smash it by ditching her childish dream world and embracing the feminist ideal lifestyle: spinsterhood.

We’ve reached the point where it’s no longer possible to take the Woke seriously. They’ve gone so far around the bend that their gibberish has transcended parody and reached the inconceivable level. “They’ve got to be kidding,” anyone who still has a shred of the ability to think analytically says. “They can’t possibly believe that. It’s got to be a joke.”

But while Millennials are the children of the Boomer hippies, Gen Z was raised by Gen X, so naturally they’re turning out to be a pretty canny crew. They’ve looked at the garbage preached by their elders, the thoroughly brainwashed Millennials, and realized, Oh, my good Lord, they really do believe that. And to their credit, they point and laugh.

The young men of Gen Z had an especially tough time as they came of age. They’re the boys who were told they were “toxic” and “the future was female.” They watched mutely as girls were handed all the honors and awards at school. Their Boy Scout troops were opened up to girls, ending the last boys-only bastion in the country, even as girls-only spaces were praised, funded, and expanded.

There’s no disagreement. She’s assuming that people have kids in their 30s, and probably thinking about late Boomers, born in the 60s with kids born in the 90s. Early Boomers had Xer kids. Later Boomers had Millennial kids. Early Xers had Millennial kids. Later Millennials, or those who had children later, had Gen Z kids.

If she’s right about Gen Z guys watching the movie, they are “hate watching” it, or watching it ironically. I don’t think they deserve the knee-jerk abuse. They probably aren’t going to hear any of it, which is just as well.

Thank you i agree with it all.

Be funny if this movie backfires on them in a big way...
I remember another conservative bashing movie that went the same way.
Some horror “The Purge” type movie that the the public completely turned around on the dumb leftists.
Can’t remember the name though.

PS:
You Elon?

He’s also wrong about Boomer hippies. The Haight-Ashbury group were mostly older than Boomers. They were people in their early to mid-twenties in 1964-68. I’m a Boomer and I was in HS during those years.

Wasn’t X after the boomers, then the Mils and now Z?

Yes. But Gen-X was mostly raised by early Boomers and Millenials by later Boomers or early Gen-X. Boomers were 1946 to 1964. Depending on the source, Gen-X was from 1965 to 1976 (or 1980). Millennials are 1977 to 1992 (or 1981 to 1996, again, depending on source). So Millenials were more likely born to the younger Boomers or early Gen-Xers. My folks were early Boomers and I'm younger Gen-X, but my kids are Gen-Z.

I have never liked that guy who plays Ken.   The look on his face makes him seem dead inside.

If they wanted to do it right, they should have done it like Saved by the Bell with Zack Morris. He wasn't gay in the show. Of course, it was 30 years ago.

Saved by the Bell?

My point is that Ken should be more like Zack Morris. But we know that's not the vision of Hollywood. Especially in 2023.

I see a lot of my 50 year old strait peers still dress like saved from the bell. Could be worse, they could dress like the kids 10 years yonger, same Kiss T shirt.

My siblings and I are all Gen X. Both of our parents are of the Silent Generation.

My point is that I have never seen a moment of that show and would never know who Zack Morris was or his character

Thanks for making me feel older than I want to think about.   I know it's not your fault.

Zack Morris was a ladies man on that popular show in the early '90s. That show wouldn't be aired today. Zack was cunning and he would come up with all kinds of shenanigans just to get all the chicks.

Can't do that in woke America today. Zack Morris was sexist and a womanizer.
