Why don’t we let the dust settle? Or just turn it over to Ben Crump’s mob and let ‘em hang the guy?
The video is pretty damning. When you have a state patrol officer saying not to do something, and the local cop does it anyway..there’s very little in the way of excuse-making that’s going to mitigate it.
Also, the “events that lead up to it” don’t matter. If the guy has his hands up then the K9 shouldn’t have been released and I suspect that the training the officer received (or should have received—since police unions often like to claim that the problem is a “lack of training”) stated as much.
Releasing the K9 isn’t supposed to be “payback” for running from the cops or whatever the guy is alleged to have done.
