It is always some guys upside down fedora launched upside down at dusk or just after using black and white photog shot at 4 miles or so by someone tripping over a beagle. Always a hoot and most convincing.

I’m not sure what you mean. I personally believe people are seeing something and have been for a long time; but I don’t believe they’re seeing extra terrestrial activity. And I don’t think the govt. really knows much at all; though there are probably people concerned about WHAT it might be.
There’s a theory out there that the sudden ‘whistle blowing’ and interest is just a kind of psyop to drum up support for defense spending. I wouldn’t put trying that past many people...
