A doorbell camera captured the moment a motorist's car literally flew into an occupied home while speeding down a residential street - killing the elderly driver instantly and narrowly missing a three-year-old child inside the home.
The fatal crash happened in St. Louis, Missouri, Tuesday, and left a literal hole in the occupied home on Kingston Drive.
Veronica Schoettle, said her three-year-old nephew was on a bed near that wall when the car struck the home at frightening speeds that appeared to be around 100mph, and even pushed the bed along with the child several feet, NBC 4 reported.
Schoettle, who rents the home, said three other people were inside at the time, and that her nephew was uninjured.
As for the driver, police have yet to release a name, but confirmed in a statement to DailyMail.com she had been 'an adult female of 73 years of age.'
She was pronounced dead at the scene, shortly before a preliminary investigation found the vehicle had been driving well over the road's 40mph speed limit.

The epitome of a good news bad news story
Poor car design. Cars shouldn’t go airborne at 100 miles an hour.
Speed limit 40....yeah, I’m pretty sure she was going a LOT faster than that.
Me too i have a security cam set up looking at the once a month car crash intersection I sell the footage to the lawyers
Seventy-three year old women usually aren't the type to drive 100 mph.
Vax stroke or heart attack.

For sale: Used car, only driven by 73 year old grandmother
Used to happen on the curve just down the street from my parents place. The road used to connect our downtown area to a local freeway. They capped the freeway end and it cut down drastically on traffic.
That was 10-15 years ago.
There is a tree on that curve that is still missing the bark on the road-facing side from the number of hits it took. Oaks are tough.
Worst one I personally saw the aftermath for happened around mid-night and was a drunk that literally folded his Monte Carlo in half around the tree. Dead on impact.
If you are going to commit suicide, do not harm another person!
I’m turning 72 in a couple of weeks. You mean I have only one more year to enjoy 100 mph in the neighborhood before I need to dial it down? Darn...that takes all the joy out of life.
Seriously, how in the world could a car even get up to that speed in a neighborhood without hitting something? And what in the world launched her car into the air?
What an awful way to go. Of course, as you say, maybe she was already gone by the time the car hit the house. Maybe she passed and her foot landed heavily on the gas pedal.
My one long strip of street has drag racers of all ages, at all times.....No big accidents ,Yet.....
It depends mainly on what you hit first and how you hit it.
Only in today’s world would that house be totaled. 80% of the home is undamaged. By putting up the posts they did then it would safe for the family to go in and retrieve their belongings. Or at least have someone do it.
I hate when this happens.
A speeding car crashed into a home, landing only a few feet away from a 3 year old. Holy Bleep!!
Everybody in that house is now traumatized.
Maybe five years from now, they can joke about it during a family dinner.
Sounds like the car may have malfunctioned, or that she had a pressing medical issue that made he tramp down on the accelerator. Not too many women of 73 would be thrill seekers. who knows she may be one, but highly unlikely.
But wow, what a video. Usually not impressed with them, but that was rather scary to watch. She was definitely booking in that vehicle, and the vehicle had to be at least 6 feet off the ground. The occupants in the house were so fortunate to have not only survived but suffer no scratch from the sound of the report.
Made me think of this 1971 song
Well, you do know that they predicted flying cars by The year 2023. Obviously there are still a few bugs to work out.
