I recently bought three small window air units at walmart for 150.00 each. I figure I can cool off a small room with one of them using solar if the grid ever goes down. and I have spares if I have a breakdown.
We have central air, but we have a few window units we’ll use the same way if necessary.

That is the way I think, I don’t have solar so I have other solutions for summer and winter but your example shows how easy and calm being prepared is.
If a blackout descends on you in 110 degrees, you simply grab a book, turn on the classical station and enjoy normalcy.

These are great deals—only need to use them for three months of the year (CT) and they work great—then you take them down for the colder months.
