I hate to be totally relevant to the topic of this thread, but anyway... :-)
Michael Salla gives his take on what Schumer is up to starting at about the forty five minute mark of his latest “week in review”:

He argues that this is a fight between different factions of the Deep State—what makes it confusing it that the map of the Deep State does not exactly match the map of the formal bureaucracy. It can get kinda difficult to figure out who is on first, what is on second etc etc...
Congress is using “disclosure” as a weapon in that turf battle—the public is just pawns to be bamboozled as usual.
So—it is not a squirrel. It is a bunch of squirrels fighting over territory.
;-)
And I would add that, along those lines, the NDAA Amendment from Schumer is also aimed at the financial rewards that come from the eminent domain expropriation of non-human technologies and assets currently held by Lockheed-Martin, Raytheon, et al by Congress.
The NDAA UAP Amendment creates a legal and financial cloud for those companies via the eminent domain clause. That clause means that the government can and will take ownership of any UAP technology, intellectual property, bodily remains, recovered aircraft, OR any products developed from the aforementioned property.
This could crush those companies if they actually possess anything UAP-related or have used it to develop current products or products planned for future development.
So—it is not a squirrel. It is a bunch of squirrels fighting over territory.

I do agree it is also being used as a distraction.
