Hempstead , Nassua County .
With so few roads heading west able to get one off of Long Island (there are no east, north, south roads off of Long Island), in all the years living in the area always considered AGAINST Long Island as a place to live.
It shares a peninsular with Long Beach. It is a short drive from Far Rockaway Queens. About 2 minutes. It stretches 1.5 miles from its eastern shore to the city of Long Beach. It has 5 beach clubs and is 2 blocks by 22 blocks. Has great beaches and surf. Few restaurants though neighboring Long Beach has a city ordinance that every other storefront must be a bar. Is at least 90 minutes by public transit from Manhattan and more by car. People who see Atlantic Beach as the new East Hampton are delusional.
Hmmmmm - I thought the oceans were rising due to climate change. Why would they buy expensive properties on the ocean if they really believed this? And you can figure most of the residents are libs.
They are right under the flight-path to/from JFK.
and I guess people forgot about Hurricane Sandy also
looks like crap, no thanks

does not mean sold. Atlantic beach is a pain to get to, they say and hour from NYC but try that at any time other than 3 in the morning. It’s a nice home but you never want to have the most expensive house on the block.
Not the Hamptons, or really anything like the eastern tip of LI.
I guess Wall Street’s never heard of global warming.
I believe Atlantic Beach flooded quite nicely during Hurricane Sandy. Also, does not have the quaint feel of the Hamptons.
I drove from NJ to halfway up long island last weekend.
4 hours to go 90 miles. About 3 hours 15 minutes of it spent on the 55 miles between the Verrezano Bridge and my destination. Belt parkway and South State parkway.
No thank you. Nice place to live, would not drive there.
