Why do liberals and leftists want to continually indoctrinate everyone else, while today’s conservatives tend to adopt a live and let live attitude?
Raising this question to conservative friends, I had no idea that the issue would prompt such intense reactions, including heartfelt expressions about attempts to communicate with family members, relatives, friends, and associates.

Yes, but what are they angry at and why?
I boil that down to the following:
1 - They are angry at reality, the world as it is
2 - And the reason is because they see reality as “unfair”. They just cannot stomach the reality that people are unequal, that some are smart, some dumb, some successful, some failures, some beautiful some ugly, some rich some poor...
This “unfairness” is an assault to their warped and delusional sense of “justice”, and it sends them on endless crusades to eliminate the reality of “inequality”.
It’s what today’s “equity” crusade is all about. It’s delusionals insisting and demanding that their delusions be made into reality.
So those that have concluded that liberalism/leftism is a mental disorder are absolutely right. More specifically, the disorder is a delusional disorder.
Thus, when you boil it down to its essence the struggle between right and left is literally one between sanity and insanity.
And you don’t solve a mental disorder by arguing or discussing differences, because that simply won’t work. They need psychiatric help.
And at a societal level, the sane people must take control, and keep the delusionals from running the asylum, as they are currently doing.
This begs another very important question, how have the insane managed to take control over the sane?
Because liberals are children.
Angry, dissatisfied, petulant children, fundamentally incapable of anticipating the outcomes of their own actions, taking responsibility for what they’ve done, or taking charge of their own futures. They are forever unhappy, and whatever it is that makes them unhappy, it’s someone else’s fault.
A conservative sees a problem and thinks, what can I do to fix this? A liberal sees a problem and thinks, who can I blame?

But even he could not have imagined that the Party could make you believe that men could get pregnant, or women had dicks.
But, we’re in 2023, many years after 1984, so, naturally we have “progressed” a lot since then.

I have a couple of liberal friends who I can debate with and it not end up in a fight. One is a history professor who tried the I’m smarter than you shut up routine, he actually told me to be quite and he started up his spill and I said, I don’t want to hear it and he said what? I said you come to my office and tell me to be quite and then start your leftist crap, not happening get out. He was boiling mad and left and thirty minutes later emailed an apology and then called me and apologized for his behavior.
Another is a female family friend I have known forever, in her thirties and she is out there, but will debate you, disagree with you but will hug you at the end of the debate and say I love you dude and enjoyed the debate. Truly rare for a committed leftist.
Modern liberals don’t want to hear your opinion coming out of your mouth. They only want to hear their opinion coming out of your mouth.

Yes. A more recent example for me is when I mentioned the farmer protests going on in the Netherlands. My in-laws - mostly liberal - were completely ignorant of them. When I explained the reasons why they were protesting, they were shocked.
Sadly my wife is a liberal who still watches CNN and discusses politics only with her equally liberal friends.
She and her friends hold the view that all conservative thinking people are stupid or have been brainwashed by Fox News. They believe Trump is virtually the anti Christ and he actually destroyed the country. They lament inflation and high gasolines prices but that was all Trump’s fault. My wife, a PhD, tried to tell me that high gas prices were due to Trump and the oil companies colluding to make Biden look bad. She also believes that every increase in gasoline prices is due to oil executives raising prices so they can buy new yachts.
It is impossible to have any intelligent discussion given their firm belief in such utter claptrap. I taught college economics and cannot discuss even basic principles of supply and demand with my wife as she is convinced that there is no market just business fat cats manipulating prices because they can. I simply stay silent perhaps in the vain hope they eventually will recognize the lies they have been fed.
Yup, these people believe what they hear from strangers on tv more than what they hear from family members. My wife and I have NOTHING. To do with liberals. We are polite, and then we turn our backs and walk away.

I agree with you. I was just noting how Bush is widely hated on Free Republic nowadays. It wasn’t always that way.

Problem is you end up with the swimmer or the red headed drunk. RFK Jr. needs to go down for that reason alone. Milk him for what he does to our enemies and how uncle Jack stood up to the military. His dad tapped the phone of MLK-that’s for later.
