Adam Schiff dominates rivals in fundraising for California’s U.S. Senate race

Rep. Adam B. Schiff swamped his rivals in the financial race to replace retiring Sen. Dianne Feinstein, raising $8.2 million in recent months, according to federal fundraising reports released Saturday.

Schiff collected roughly double the combined total raised by his top Democratic opponents — Reps. Katie Porter and Barbara Lee — in the same period.

Schiff’s windfall was fueled by his June censure by congressional Republicans over his role in investigating former GOP President Trump’s ties to Russia — a reprimand the Burbank Democrat repeatedly highlighted in his fundraising appeals.

It’s hard for me to fathom, yet it seems there are many places like Ca where people actually like what is happening. Leaders like Schiff, open borders, welfare state, lax on crime, tuition forgiveness, drugs in the White House, trans surgery on adolescents, war mongering, calls for stacking the supreme court, reparations…

I blame the incidence of a ready supply of psychedelic drugs and opioids throughout most of coastal California for the seeming total lack of judgment of the voters there. That and ballot harvesting by whatever means available assures a majority, sometimes a very large majority, of ballots ready to push into office just about any unfiltered voice of the Democrat Socialist persuasion.

California is wasted on most Californians. They knew not the paradise and plenty they once had. The resources are still there, but not the will to use them well and act as good stewards of the land.

Or they simply don't care because they live in an echo chamber of delusion. Real issues don't matter to them because they're crowded out by crackpot grandstanding about "ultra-MAGA" and "the far right."

Exactly. I have seen it. These people live in a world of delusion, where Shiff is a hero for standing up the "evil" President Trump. Where all the problems in the world are covered by Republicans, and Democrats are justified in doing anything in order to stop the evil conservatives, who want to kill all people of color, and women, just for fun.

That is the world view which supports Schiff.

Progressives don't vote for anything. They always vote against. At least their targets are becoming progressively more populist.

You know is it’s interesting and coincidental you said that.

I was talking to my mostly liberal aunt (depends how well she is doing…when she has money and is feeling well, her kids and grandkids are healthy etc she becomes ultra leftist—when she is low on money or/and has problems she oddly becomes more moderate… weird I know) in Ca—she lives in the Central Valley.

Anyway I haven’t talked to her in a month or three and just last night we had a good long chat. On it she said and I quote “every person I know is on anxiety and/or depression medications”. She lives about 1 hour east of San Fran, maybe 40 min from Sacramento .

💯 true story….

Because the truth doesn’t matter. That’s why all the Democrats were thanking him and voted against censoring him.

You folks are missing something as expected. The money doesn’t make him a shoo-in vs. Barbara Lee. Since the 2 candidates on the ballot will be democrats the republicans can vote for the lesser of 2 evils. Lee is 76. She’ll last one term.

Willie Brown was once losing to Tom Ammiano in the SF mayor’s race. Ammiano-ultra leftist queer. He had all the gay ‘tomboys’ carrying signs at the BART stations on election Day. They wore suits/ties. Very impressive.

Willie went to the GOP, hat in hand and asked for their support. He got it and won. Now the south of Market looks like NY.

Lee isn’t going to get enough votes to defeat Schiff from Republicans.
