This is all entirely from domestic sales.
Remember. CNN, Slater, and Washington Ppst do not want you to see this.
Would like to see this film hit $200m in USA alone.
I heard from an investor on Twit, who said she had received a letter from the film company saying the first checks were in the mail to the investors. Music to my ears as a filmmaker.
When I was there at a 10:30 am show, there were more people in the theater than when I went to a similar showing of “Guardians of the Galaxy 3.” No. It’s not going well because they are giving away tickets.
Reports on Twit are people are in mostly full theaters.
Well, they’ll lose that battle too. I think this will go international soon. Obviously certain countries won’t be too enthused with its message.
Oh gee, that says it all. I paid for mine.
What is it with some of you and your desire to drag down this movie?
Our theater was packed, when we saw it last Sunday eve.
All ages (from older teens to senior citizens) .. all races.
Does the $85M have to be shared with the theatres, or is that the production company’s portion already?
Are there marketing costs over and above the production costs?
They are giving away free tickets to this movie, that’s why it’s doing so well.
Whaaaaaambulance, for you.
Someone bought the ticket for everyone who is attending.
Unlike an RFK Jr. campaign rally which is all oldsters.
LOL...I thought that was Meatball’s paid for audience.
It is so weird to want this movie to not do well or to be disappointed if it does well.
Agree. I think the meme I posted must say it all.
I mean....who would NOT be for exposing this horrific practice, and, saving so many children???
You can add the NY Times to those who gave it bad reviews. On Friday, they printed the most ridiculous attempted bringdown I’ve ever seen. They did praise Bill Camp (Vampiro) just to show they weren’t biased though.
That’s it gross, not number of tickets.
Disagree entirely! Its doing well because of many many reasons all to do with message, great acting, great writing and the Good Lord blessing efforts. Very thankful to folks who are buying tickets and leaving them so those who otherwise couldn’t afford a movie can see this one.
Who says I am trying to drag it down ? MI7 was supposed to be the blockbuster for this weekend especially given Top Gun’s huge success last year, and all of a sudden some ultra low budget with no marketing comes out of nowhere and starts edging out MI7. I was looking for an explanation. And this is what I found.
Our pastor asked who has seen The Sound of Freedom. Almost everyone in the congregation raised their hands.
Who cares? MI7 will survive just fine. Do you have some kind of financial interest in it or something?
If this movie is doing better it must be because people want to go see this movie. MI7 will be around awhile.
SOF has been in the can for 4-5 years. So give it it’s due. It is holding well against some of the more well commercialized and touted competition.
Another thing, people are also looking for something with more meaning than the usual hollywood cranked out fare that may be good but is just another in the line of 6 movies of the same thing before it.
Like Prohibition, if this grows organically, sleazy politicians will jump into the parade and ride it to the top.
