Anyone who downloaded File Recovery & Data Recovery or File Manager are urged to wipe the allegedly compromised apps from their devices.
According to cybersecurity firm Pradeo, the supposed file management applications are actually “programmed to launch without users’ interaction, and to silently exfiltrate sensitive users’ data towards various malicious servers based in China.”

What a worthless article. There are many apps called File Manager on the play store. They say the 2 apps are by the same developer, but don’t give the developers name.
I see you have to go to bleeping computer to see the screen shots.

I’ve used CX File Explorer for years. Secure, simple and free with no ads.

If they hadn't gone out of their way to mention G**gle, you wouldn't even have been able to tell if it's an Android app or an iPhone app.
