North Dakota police officer killed, 2 other cops in critical condition in shooting that left suspect dead

A police officer was killed and two other officers are in critical condition after a man opened fire on a North Dakota street on Friday.

The shooting unfolded at an intersection in Fargo, N.D. just before 3 p.m. as officers were responding to the scene of a car crash, according to KFGO.

Officers returned gunfire, killing the suspect, who has yet to be identified.

Fargo police said a fifth person sustained “serious injuries” in the shooting.

For some strange reason I looked at the number of murders per year in North Dakota (my home state). In 2019 the number was 24, (population762,000). In 1967 the number was 1, (population 639,000) From 1960-1969 the number of murders was in single digits except for 2 years when the numbers were 12 and 13.
