I agree. I was born and raised in Turkey Creek , Florida. And neither I or anyone around where I was raised never saw an alligator. And we went in the rivers, the creeks, the phosphate pits. We fished, we swam. The reason we never saw an alligator nor were attacked by one is that the old people had killed them. Some cooked and ate them and some made things from their hides. But no children, no adults, no live stock were killed or lost to them. Then the hippies and dopers took over and things changed.
