Bigfoot Warning in Taos County

The Taos County Sheriff's Office has offered safety tips for campers in the area due to a Bigfoot warning. The tips are the "do's and don'ts" if you happen to encounter one.

The warning states that the species are coming down from the high country to the Kern River to hunt for fish and vegetation. If you happen to see one, here's what they are saying to do:

Do's
Go about your business
Take photos documenting the event

Don'ts
Do not run toward or away from Bigfoot
Do not yell
Do not try to feed Bigfoot

The sheriff's office also said that the species will not enter an occupied camp or harm people. If an encounter happens, the public has been asked to report it to the closest ranger station.

Oh, please. Now bigfoot is being promoted as a predator.

This is a cheap tourism campaign to lure stupid people to spend $$ in the community.

Most blatant I’ve seen yet.

Avoid eye contact. If there are no eyes avoid all contact.

Is this for real?

No one has ever actually taken a clear verifiable photo of one of these things, dogs can't seem to track them, no one has ever trapped one or there has never been a carcass of one ever found.

My advice would be SHOOT IT DEAD. Can you imagine the fame for being the person to FINALLY bag a bigfoot and to be able to put the speculation to bed once and for all?

Mixed feelings about that. He did me no harm, and I doubt that he's good eating. But "bagging" him would likely result in mandated protection for his kind.
