This can mostly be dealt with through comfortable ear plugs, in my experience. I know homes can allow in the noise, from personal experience, though. Living near a highway, train tracks, or airport, means you are going to be disturbed.
It is very important for each of us to make our sleep as good as possible. This is just another indication of what health issues sleep disturbances cause.

Really? I say nonsense.
Airplane sound is nothing compared with motorcycles, garden equipment, inconsiderate "music" players, noisy neighbors, and myriad other sound intrusions.
Airplane sounds are comforting by comparison.

Researchers can point to aircraft noise out of myriad of other environmental factors and conclude it contributes to hospitalizations?! Put this research team onto vaccine related injuries and death.
Some of our most overly funded agencies have trouble finding any link at all between the vax and heart problems, much less a host of other reactions.

Nothing sweeter to me than PT6 turboprop engines screaming like banshee lightning, with the props well synchronized. Loud as a continuous bomb explosions on each wing.

Oh ok... airplanes. Would that be piston or jet powered?

PT^’s Blackdog? How about a couple of Garrets on an Aero Commander or a MU-2?

Bingo.
Of course, getting angry over the planes and neighbors might contribute to ER visits.

PT6? Oh, yeah, I do love them.
My personal favorites,
R-1690s, B-17
J-57s (eight of them on a B-52)
J-79s (on an F-4 Phantom)
J-58s (on the SR-71)
All distinctive sounds, best heard on takeoff from the flightline.

Maybe it’s the jet exhaust they’re being dusted with. Those living near the approaches to major airports, suck in lots of jet exhaust.

And let’s not forget the radial purr of the Beach 18 tail draggeer. Not loud, but very distinctive. And yes, the MU-2 sounds like two 3,000 HP vacuum cleaners.

I think the B-58 Hustler had (4) J-79’s. That must’ve been a hoot.

Me too...! Same engines... 100% 02 after lunch... Some of the best sleep I ever had. The hummm of a huey transmission and all the vibration was a close second.

I had to do a GPU start on an Aero Commander with Garretts once. The cord mating receptacle access is about one foot from the Garrett / prop on the left side. Talk about scary?
A Huffer start on a T-38 NASA shuttle pilots plane was the most interesting. The tower then requested a "maximum performance takeoff and deparure" since it was a slow Sunday. Straight up vertical to 10,000 feet!
Back in the 90's when aviation was wonderful. It's awful now.
