If they ever expect to act again, they have to tow the line. If they even chose to remain silent it would also be a career killer.
In my career I saw some immoral and/or unethical things. I always lived well below my means so if my boss demanded I do something that I felt strongly opposed to, I could walk out that very day. Only once was I ordered to say a serious issue was resolved just to take the heat off my boss. I said, “I’ve been running a test for 24 hours that will give us the real answer. What if we close this today, and it occurs again? How embarrassed will you be then? One more day and I’ll have a real answer for you.” A little later one of my coworkers said, “You know, I noticed that there’s not one personal item in your office. I get the impression you could walk out without even the traditional box of stuff and potted plant.”
Exactly. What did people expect?
That’s because the casting producers are notoriously liberal and would act as gatekeepers to keep conservative actors out, if they are detected.
Just like most "artistic" people.
I wouldn't burn my Niel Young and Clash records just because they're loony-leftists.
It's just entertainment - if I like it, I'll watch or listen. I don't take my political or moral cues from them.
