Not to mention the countless thousands of Ukrainian children kidnapped by Russian filth and taken to Russia. God only knows what’s happening to them.

--- "Wow. Never thought I'd see the day on FR when human beings being killed was glorified and celebrated like it is on these Ukraine threads. SMDH..

SMDH."

I had to search what SMDH meant. "Shaking my damn head...."

She commented on: " 'An interesting suggestion I saw says the Ukrainians can open the cluster shells and send the individual bomblets via drone to drop directly into occupied trenches or on top of tanks carrying infantry riding on top," with "Wow! Innovation at its best!"

This is what passes for ordained Methodist thinking here on this daily thread which daily and over months begins with the monetized YouTube channel of a supposedly adult male Ukrainian pilot who apparently isn't flying for the Ukraine military but rather has the time each day to make a nice, long video for Patreon subscribers and more. And you can buy his "merch" because that is better than his actually fighting for Ukraine....

As you say, "Never thought I'd see the day on FR when human beings being killed was glorified and celebrated like it is on these Ukraine threads."

This daily thread comes down to "Killing Russian soldiers is somehow God's "innovative" will." In an officially non-NATO war with the blessings of the Democrat administration. This is really become an Institute for the Study of War outreach, wrapped in blue and yellow prayer because God supports the Ukraine which funneled massive amounts of money to the princelings of Biden, Pelosi, Kerry and friends of Romney long before the war broke out, and the current Resident in the White House had leveraged a previous Ukraine government to stop corruption investigations by leveraging a billion USD in aid against firing an investigator.

Rough translation:

Good afternoon with you and create Good night one family.
Here it was necessary to collect my thoughts a lot events occurred
now we can be sure of it saying you were frank.

I was honest with you from the very beginning

I’ve reduced my distance from everyone: gladiators of the army from Soldier to Marshal, in our case the value of the headquarters Army Major General Medvedev because we are the same. We will die the same . We fight the same.
The same way everyone is scared. The same way it’s hard and painful for everyone.

I didn’t make a difference between you absolutely nothing and was always honest as much as possible from the first day of arrival in our army.

Therefore, I tell you honestly, the situation was difficult with the senior authorities: when should I have been cowardly
silent from and say something you didn’t want to hear either?

I am to call a spade a spade in your name, of all our friends fighting the time of death. I didn’t have the right to lie.
That’s why I Identified all the problematic issues existing ones today in the Army combat work on security. To ensure, I called everything things by their proper names froze attention at the most important tragedy of modern war. This is a battery fight. Then, our brothers with you from enemy artillery also raised a number of other problems. Frankly, extremely tough to express it at the highest level.

Apparently, senior bosses with this [information] they felt some kind of danger and quickly in one day they concocted an order from the Minister of Defense. They got rid of me as they said.

Today, many regimental commanders of the division of our army could not break through from the front.
Military personnel Ukraine hit us from the rear. Our senior boss treacherous meanness brought Farme the most
heavy stressful moment. But, along with those I stay in constant touch for all Soldiers, Sergeants, Army ensigns for everyone absolutely 24/7. Any problems domestic family, rear combat vehicles, absolutely any problems I have access to continue working in the group for you.

It’s always an honor for me. I am proud, I value and I will do everything that my powers, even greater in order to the main thing is in the name of those who have never, will not return from the battlefields. In the name of their memory in the name of spilled blood of the soldiers’ officer’s room in Zaporozhye. We are , we are obliged to you

Defeat the enemy repel him. Create offensive conditions for subsequent actions.
And, thus to honor the memory of our fallen comrades. our comrades are always with you always in touch
You’re Spartacus, my Gladiators honor me. I shake everyone’s hand firmly.

To all the guys from me a huge hello
The status will also be unchanged on the Buddhism of our territory on video.

One word, here is one dit we are on aware of I will not change the territory and Nikola to
Budek and the frozen conflict today. If I don’t know my position, clearly they know.

“Gloat, Gloat”

I disagree that you or anyone should become obsessed with blood thirsty gloating of a world power invasion of a much smaller neighboring nation. I also never thought I’d see the day on FR when such an invasion of sovereign nation would be excused & even supported by some.

IMO, as I mentioned in previous comments, this honoring and “gloating” of the Putin/Russia invasion that is creating so much suffering for the Ukrainian as well as Russian people is totally disgusting! Just impossible to imagine how anyone can be supportive of such destruction and victimization. Especially on this Free Republic site!

How can anyone be ‘giddy’ and justify taking such an anti-Ukraine stance that results in such horrendous war-crimes committed by the Russian military against innocent civilians.

So very sick and so very sad.

True, in self-defense the Ukrainians must battle the Russian military resulting in military deaths to preserve their national freedom.

But, there is NO gloating.

Most amazingly, the Ukraine government has established the incredible “I want to live” program to help Russian soldiers escape their entrappment through mobilization/conscription into the Russian military!

Alexei Venediktov, the influential former editor-in-chief of the Echo of Moscow radio station, said the latest draft changes amounted to “the introduction of martial law without the formal introduction of martial law.”

Today, the Russian people are also expressing disgust with their warring government: Putin & Kremlin! To the very amazing extent, Russian citizens are now willing to risk being beaten, imprisoned for protesting, escaping across Russian borders, or if too poor, just moving into hiding from gov’t officials. Also, now these disenchanted Russian citizens have become embolden to fight their own government by forming “activist underground/s” to sabotage their own Russian factories, railroads & military buildings supporting the war effort!

Disgusting! Yes, absolutely!
This Putin war is disgusting victimizing the Russian as well as the Ukrainian people.

Of those Bradley’s and Leopards from three weeks ago, all but one or two have since been returned to service.

Even the Leopard that was “destroyed” by the Russian drone has since been repaired.

The deadliest Soviet sniper in WW2 was Ukrainian born Lyudmila Pavlichenko. She had over 300 confirmed kills in less than a year of combat, 36 of which were enemy snipers.

“Shaking my damn head....”

1st. No, I do not believe your head has not been damned.

2nd. I did comment on the suggestion that the Ukrainians might be able to open the cluster shells and send the individual bomblets via drone.

3rd. When weapons are running low such innovation will be a positive!

SIDEBAR: Reminds me of the need when desperate times call for desperate measures. Chaplain Howell Forgy was aboard the USS New Orleans at the time of the Pearl Harbor attack. The officer in charge of the ammunition line on the USS New Orleans reported that he heard the phrase during the attack.
He turned around when he saw Chaplain Forgy walking towards him through the line of scared men. The chaplain patting him on the back and said the famous sentence: “Praise the Lord and Pass the Ammunition”. The officer reported the immediate effect on the man and himself feeling comforted and prepared.

LEGEND: When Pearl Harbor was hit in a surprise attack at dawn, in 1941, the scattered American forces were pinned down by the charging Japanese Zero planes. During the attack, it is said one army chaplain was among the defenders who were returning small-arms and machine gun fire on the oncoming fighters.

In the heat of the battle, he was asked by the men to say a prayer for them, as they were afraid that those were the last moments of their lives.

It is said that the chaplain lay down his Bible, manned one of the machine guns and shouted: “Praise the Lord and Pass the Ammunition”. This gesture boosted the morale of the soldiers and they continued the defense of the harbor.

BTW, after the war, Forgy made an appearance on “I’ve got a secret”, where he recalled and told the entire event:

“Well, I was stationed aboard the USS New Orleans, and we were tied up at 1010 dock in Pearl Harbor when we attacked again. We were having a turbine lifted, and all of our electrical power wasn’t on, and so when we went to lift the ammunition by the hoist, we had to form lines of men — form a bucket brigade — and we began to carry the ammunition up through the quarterdeck into the gurneys.
I stood there and directed some of the boys down the port side and some down the starboard side, and as they were getting a little tired, I just happened to say, “Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition.”

“Wow. Never thought I’d see the day on FR when human beings being killed was glorified and celebrated like it is on these Ukraine threads.”

I will take it you mean the celebration by some of the Ukrainians killed every day by missles, bombs and drones sent by Putin. Yes, I never thought I’d see that day on FR.

Correction: America proposed to the USSR that there should be no expansion of NATO into territory controlled by the USSR as a result of German reunification.

https://www.prlib.ru/en/history/619792

Gorbachev agreed with the sentiment but wasn’t daft enough to include it in the final settlement - because it would’ve been like saying “if our wonderful Soviet Union collapses and we lose control of the Warsaw Pact...”

The USSR would never have been retarded enough to publicly admit that this could ever happen.

So roll ahead to the Belovezha Accords. Nicely explained in Russian websites as well as in other libraries all round the world..

The preamble of the document stated that “the USSR as a subject of international law and a geopolitical reality no longer exists.”

Dude, if you REALLY think that the USA was beholden to an unadopted promise to the dying Soviet Union even a month after the Soviet Union had been abolished (with the independent RUSSIA literally saying the geopolitical reality of the USSR had completely ceased to exist!) then I’ve got three London Bridges to sell to you.

Russia and its supporters in the West can’t argue incessantly the USSR doesn’t exist on one hand, and then argue with the other hand three presidents after the dissolution of the USSR that a promise made to the now nonexistent USSR still holds. That’s a stupid ass contradiction.

Think about it. If that were remotely true then every American president would be hog tied and unable to rip up a treaty that was signed by his predecessor. Even if the treaty was with a country that no longer exists.

Russia agreed in the Belovezha Accords that any country that had been under the Soviet Union control was now free to go elsewhere. That means any country that used to be in the USSR could join the CIS, or join the EEC, or join NATO, or join BRICS, or join CSTO, or do something else.

Putin and Medvedev should be slapped in the mouth every bloody time they troll out their totally delusional butthurt. Their predecessors gave up all rights to Ukraine, Belarus, the Baltic countries and the Warsaw Pact. They can’t take a Mulligan on it.

Ukrainians care little about U.S. domestic political disputes or some U.S. persons concentration on international “intrigues” they know did not trigger and are not reasons or valid excuses for Putin’s war, a war Putin chose, a war nothing essential to the terrirtorial integrity of Russia required Putin to start.

Ukrainians know neither George Soros, NATO or the stupid WEF started Putins war and are not responsible or valid excuses for Putin starting his war.

It is not “Biden’s” war either. Trump also supported arms to Urkaine when he wwas President for the same reasons such support is done now - for Ukraine to defend itself. If WWII had started with a Dim President and then during the war shifted to a GOP President (let’s say President X), would the Dims have gotten away with calling it “President X’s war”. No. Calling it Biden’s war does not make it so.

If the Trump administration had been in power when Putin desired to start his war, Trump’s efforts to prevent Putin’s actions would NOT have been to abandon Ukraine but, unlike Biden, to make aure that an invastion by Putin would INSURE the exapansion of NATO Putin thinks he fears.

Now, that not having been the case we have, because we have Biden, only makes it “Biden’s war, because he failed to act boldly and strongly enough, as Trump would have done, to convince Putin not to do it. It is not “Biden’s war” as you would suggest just because the U.S continues to support Ukriane while Biden is in office.

I don’t think Ukaainians or most supporters of Ukraine think the defense of Ukriane is a “Godly” mission, no matter how many non-Ukrainians, like some in the U.S., may thinks so. To Ukrainians it an exsitential threat to their independent existence as a nation. That is what they defend and have a right to defend. Others motives are irrelevant and your reliance on others motives shows you just hunting for excusexs to defend an unnecesary Putin invasion. Quit wasting your time on such things. They are irrelevant to the people of Ukraine.

You must not read the crime threads and the comments about an American criminal’s demise during a robbery or carjacking, or other ways.

You can also see the remarks about the victims of the Russians.

That is just plain silly.

How many times and for how many years do you have to have that debunked before you quit claiming it?

Show us the treaty that put Russia in charge of free European countries and NATO membership.

Western military hardware tends to be more durable than their Soviet Russian opposites.

Then again, the US does not design its equipment for Turret Toss Olympics either.

All the people on here talking smack about what Zelensky wore to the NATO summit, are the same ones who would probably gush and coo for hours about Stalin wearing his uniform to the conferences in Yalta, Tehran, and Potsdam. 🙄

What a nasty, vicious accusation to make against FReepers. Shame on you.

A few years ago I was at a large meeting where the meeting of a presidential candidate (who I will not name) with a Party (I will not name) who had met with Putin was being discussed in a positive way. A person whom I new somewhat well (who has family in Kiev) stood up and objected to some of the praise that was being showered on this meeting with Putin. In addition to receiving a lot of negativity from people at that meeting, a few days later they began to have serious problems with several of their credit card accounts. At least I think that is what it was, although since it was several years ago, I may be remembering wrong exactly what part of their life was being tampered with. But the fact that some kind of tampering was at play seemed very evident. At any rate, it seemed that their computer was involved in some way, and their name and political activity were known to the hostile people at that meeting.
