Go into any nursing home. You will see there are a lot of women whose hormones get out of whack as they get older. It’s normal there. (Lots of razors in action!)

There are plenty of “normal” women with hormonal imbalances. The use of hormones in food production just adds to the problem. Diet has a LOT to do with this stuff.

Of course, this assumes they are not mixing and matching their hormones artificially.

This must be brutal for young women who have to deal with this. “Bearded ladies” will always be seen as odd. I guess you can embrace “what you are” but the amount of ridicule and teasing must be horrible. (Just read the comments here.)

Valid points. But how far should we push the embrace-what-you-are mantra?

For example, as a man my beard looks normal on me and my wife likes it. But I still need to trim it regularly and shave parts of my neck and face, or the real "what I am" would look scraggly. Same with other grooming and hygiene things I and everybody else does daily.

Otherwise the real what we are would look and smell really really bad --- like Occupy Wall Street. LOL
