If we are descendants and/or beneficiaries of the conquerors (the guys who wrote the history but in reality the "bad guys") why should it matter if we win this fight?
The arrival of Europeans in the Western Hemisphere is the second best thing to happen in human history. I make no apologies.
In the grand scheme of human history it doesn't matter at all. Empires rise, conquer their neighbors and spread; are in turn conquered and fall and are eventually forgotten. Cultures evolve and change constantly. Today the technology driven rate of cultural change is accelerating so rapidly that getting it wrong can cost a company $Billions$ via off-key marketing. Bud Light anyone?

Me neither. We beat the natives fair and square through superior firepower. We destroyed their culture and took the Americas from them by force. Even the most virtuous 15th century Christians had little or no compunction about killing and enslaving people by the thousands.
Just another cycle in human existence.
500 year Delta.
I concur. Not taken in anymore by the story of the noble and peaceful savages being oppressed by the European colonizers. Reading of the savagery many tribes displayed with the Europeans they captured, especially women and girls, is stomach-turning. They also tortured those from other tribes.
Yes, there were also atrocities committed against the indigenous people, but these are far fewer and less savage.
