The winners are ALWAYS the good guys in the history books. After all. They are the ones who get to write them. The losers tend to be pretty quiet.

How would the history of the 20th century read if the Axis had won WWII?

How do you think the history of our time will be recorded if the left retains power through the end of the decade?

The losers cannot be allowed to appear sympathetic. They MUST be made out to be evil. Otherwise, the conquerors lose legitimacy. Therefore, the winners of every war and conquest must be portrayed as good and virtuous while the losers are painted as backward, vile, disgusting, perverted...evil.

Until very recently kids in America played Cowboys and Indians. Certainly all the boys in my generation did.

Cowboys - good
Indians = bad

Because it just wouldn’t do to portray the Native Americans as having been mercilessly conquered by ruthless, imperialistic (Christian) Europeans. They had to be the Bad Guys.

And if we lose this fight, WE will be the bad guys in the history books.

If we are descendants and/or beneficiaries of the conquerors (the guys who wrote the history but in reality the "bad guys") why should it matter if we win this fight?

The arrival of Europeans in the Western Hemisphere is the second best thing to happen in human history. I make no apologies.
