Those measures have contributed to the flight of millionaires and everyday workers, who have left the country to look for better opportunities, significantly hurting the nation's output and productivity. And though Putin has made a show of Russia's economic strength, his actions have only bought Russia more time, researchers warned.
"That resilience is nothing but a Potemkin façade, sustained not through genuine economic productivity but rather through shaking down the entire country for pennies to direct towards war," Sonnenfeld and Tian said. "Putin can continue to sustain his invasion of Ukraine this way, but in doing so, continues to rip off his own people. In avoiding outright economic collapse by mortgaging Russia's future, he grows more unloved by his people and is thus increasingly weakened.

In the US we have been building a really good economy, and the base of it is a war machine. If it works so well in America, why not in Russia? Instead of weakening the economy, it will grow it. If it works here it will work there kinda thing.
Actually, this is just government disinformation. Yahoo is just another hand of the DS/WEF/NWO
And we are cannibalizing our military to keep the war in Ukraine humming.
Billions of dollars are wasted, US war stockpiles are dangerously depleted, tens of thousands of Ukrainians are dying while Biden and NATO block any negotiated settlement because they are losing the war and don’t want to face up to account for the damage, death and destruction they have enabled to no good purpose
We had to supply the Soviets during World War II.
The Soviets would have lost if we didn't supply them.
Have the "Yale Researchers" gotten Biden to pay off their Stupident Loans with your money yet?
FWIW these same economists probably also say WW2 war machine production ended the depression.
These Yale economists should present their paper at the BRICS conference next month.
““The wheels of justice turn slowly, but grind exceedingly fine””
That is quite ominous for our economy if you give it a little thought.
It did, and the Facist New Deal did not.
The USSR also got invaded en masse by millions of Nazis, which resulted in the destruction of huge swaths of its pre-war military stock. Hardly a suitable comparison currently (as America and Russia both are not the same now as they were in the 1940s), so why bring it up?
In the USA, that's:
The wheels of JustUs turn slowly, but grind the innocent exceedingly fine.
Then they used all that to take over Western Europe.
Perhaps depletion of the stock of war materiel is the objective for the support of the Ukrainian “resistance”.
This is a war of attrition, and the first side to run out of either munitions or money to purchase more will be declared the loser. But there might never be a winner or loser declared, as two weary pugilists circle in the ring, neither with the remaining strength to lay a telling blow upon the other.
WW2. Wasn’t it in our interests to let the Russians and the Krauts carve each other up before we invaded Normandy?
Same for the Brits. We kept the world afloat then.
That’s an astonishing graphic. I had no idea that the amount of materiel we sent to the Soviets in WW II was that huge. They helped defeat Nazism, but we got communism and the Cold War as a result.
Just like it was in Stalin’s interests for the Nazis to have a war in the West, which is why he signed the Non-Aggression pact with Hitler.
Just like WW I and the Korean War. They ended with armistice, not complete, unconditional surrender.
At a dinner toast with Allied leaders during the Tehran Conference in December 1943, Stalin added: “The United States … is a country of machines. Without the use of those machines through Lend-Lease, we would lose this war.”
Nikita Khrushchev, who led the Soviet Union from 1953 to 1964, agreed with Stalin’s assessment. In his memoirs, Khrushchev described how Stalin stressed the value of Lend-Lease aid: “He stated bluntly that if the United States had not helped us, we would not have won the war.”
Of course the Commies here did a 180 after THE USSR was invaded, from oppisingvth3cwar to being all for it, all the while burrowing through our Government while the traitor fdr laughed.
