“They chose a hangar with enemy armoured vehicles as a place for the bonfire, burning it to the ground with two armoured personnel carriers inside. They will no longer travel and shell our positions,” our defenders wrote.

No it won’t. They have been using cluster shells since 2014.
All it means is they have run thru their previous USSR stockpile, as well as what they got from the French, etc.

Pentagon: Russia’s victory poses much greater danger to Ukrainians than cluster munitions

Pentagon explained why United States still decided to provide Ukraine with cluster munitions, despite their danger to civilians.
It is informed by Censor.NЕТ referring toEuropen Truth.
Colin Kahl, the Pentagon’s Deputy Chief of Staff for Political Affairs, named three reasons behind Washington’s decision to provide Ukraine with cluster munitions.
“The first reason is the urgency of the moment. The Ukrainians are in the midst of a counteroffensive. It was quite exhausting, because the Russians had six months to strengthen their defense. And the defense that Russia has built in the east and south is complex. It would be difficult for any army to break through it,” the deputy minister explained. According to the official, due to these circumstances, Ukraine is spending much more artillery shells than its allies can provide, and this may prevent them from fighting and advancing as part of a counteroffensive.
Secondly, Kahl emphasized that the decision to provide cluster munitions is not permanent, but rather serves as a “bridge” until the United States and allies create sufficient capacity to produce conventional 155-mm artillery shells.
“And thirdly, there is a strategic point. Putin has a “theory of victory” - that he will “wait it out” - Ukrainians, the US, Europeans, the international community - and just push his way through. Having failed in his blitzkrieg, he is now playing the long game,” the Pentagon deputy chief added, noting that this cannot be allowed to happen.
“I am no less concerned about the humanitarian consequences of this decision (to provide cluster munitions - Ed.) than anyone else. But the worst thing for civilians in Ukraine is for Russia to win the war. That is why it is important that it does not succeed,” summarized Kahl.
The American side emphasized that the cluster munitions Ukraine will receive have an unexploded submunition rate of less than 2.35%, while those already used by Russia on the battlefield have a rate of 30-40%, which is many times more dangerous for the population.
As a reminder, on July 7, the United States announced that it would provide new military package for Ukraine which included DPICM cluster munitions.
In 2008, more than 120 countries adopted a treaty banning the production, use and stockpiling of cluster munitions. The United States, the Russian Federation, and Ukraine did not join it.

Time for F-16s, support for them, AWACS, thermobaric bombs (fuel air explosives) and barrel bombs. We could also supply longer range missiles with TNT warheads and plenty of phosphorus bombs as well.(willy petes). That will show those Russians a thing or two.
If a couple dozen terror attacks occur
Red in Russian cities across the border with high civilian casualties that would also help turn the Russian people against Ptin and the hard liners.
Colin Hackett Kahl
In the Obama Administration, Kahl was involved in the negotiations of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, commonly known as the Iran nuclear deal.
Why are libs such pencil-necked geeks?
Subtle.
We need to GTFO of this war.
“If a couple dozen terror attacks occur

Sure it would. Just like bombing civilians in Ukraine makes then want to surrender.
That list of weapons, they already have stuff like that, and it didn’t work.
We have seen with this “Counter-Offensive” that NATO/USA weapons, NATO training and NATO tactics have no special qualities. Frankly they are all a disaster.
I think they should give the Uke F35s, so we can see what those overpriced junkers can do against Russian AD.
If the gap between hype and reality is as wide as for the Bradley, even F35s won’t do anything.
“So scum like you favors using bombs”
No.
I favor Putin stopping his military invasion of Ukraine.
The Russian empire hallucination of Putin is murdering not only his own military, but the military of Ukraine & civilian population as well.
It’s actually a tacit admission that they never intend to occupy those areas again. It doesn’t bother them if farmers, children, and other people encounter the dud bomblets for the next few decades. Also, what it really means is that the United States has nothing else to send them. We’ve exhausted our supplies of conventional ammunition. The cluster munitions we have were part of a giant stockpile for the Cold War era. They are passing their expiration date and we have been physically dismantling them because the bottom boats are not completely reliable now. They have been refilling the empty shells with a small explosive charge or concrete and using them for training rounds. So basically, it’s also a tacit admission by us that we have nothing else to send . A lot of weakness in this new policy. It won’t change anything.
Russia has been using them against civilians as an invading force, and Ukraine wants these more advanced versions to use them against the incredibly entrenched Russian Army.
From wiki
“Russia launched a Tochka-U ballistic missile equipped with a cluster munition warhead at a crowded train station in the eastern city of Kramatorsk as hundreds of people were trying to leave the area. A detailed Human Rights Watch investigation found that the attack killed at least 58 civilians and injured over 100 others.
Is using them a war crime?
The use of cluster bombs itself does not violate international law, but using them against civilians can be a violation. As in any strike, determining a war crime requires looking at whether the target was legitimate and if precautions were taken to avoid civilian casualties.
“The part of international law where this starts playing [a role], though, is indiscriminate attacks targeting civilians,” Human Rights Watch’s associate arms director Mark Hiznay told The Associated Press news agency. “So that’s not necessarily related to the weapons, but the way the weapons are used.”
