How do you fix Disney, a company that seems hell-bent on destroying billions of dollars worth of intellectual property from The Little Mermaid to Indiana Jones?
Following Walt Disney’s untimely death in 1966, the company bearing his name entered a long creative and quality slump. Disney even lost direction, badly trying to outdo Star Wars with The Black Hole and producing “edgier” fare like The Devil And Max Devlin. By the late ’80s, though, the company got back to Walt’s roots in classic animation with The Little Mermaid, beginning a decade-plus creative renaissance.
Then the bean counters took over and cash-flush Disney started gobbling up other people’s creative content — Pixar, Star Wars, Marvel Comics — instead of creating more of their own.
“Who cares about the quality? Just keep the content coming,” became the new attitude. I couldn’t begin to count how many Marvel series are streaming on the money-losing Disney+ service, but I can tell you that only two of the entire lot were worth watching. The damage done to Star Wars is so serious that a new movie hasn’t begun production in six years. An unbearably smug young woman — the heroine! — punches out 80-year-old Harrison Ford in the new Indiana Jones movie, projected to lose at least $200 million. Nobody knows any longer what a Pixar movie is supposed to be, including the management at Pixar.
The rot, it stinks.
Even worse, two-time (and current) CEO Bob Iger introduced wokeness to Disney’s brand, in effect gutting all those golden geese.

I’m afraid a “Chief Creative Officer” wouldn’t be able to overrule the CEO who wants to push a stupid agenda that nobody is buying.
There was God’s plan and the corruption of it. Having pronounced judgement on both Disney and Stouffers, quoting the mill stone verse at the age of about 3-1/2, and knowing the outright evil since the 80’s, as well as about the tunnels, MKUltra and adenochrome, I’ve been praying a lot of years for redemption and restoration. It was made very clear to me as a child that I was expected to be a role model of education and accomplishment without forsaking the social graces of a princess, regardless socio-economic status or wealth. Everyone was expected to pull their weight and use their talents in whatever field that might be, regardless of gender, and without sacrificing motherhood or family. Feminism and communism really messed things up :(
The only way Disney will save it’s self is to become a brand of “faith, (hope and love,)” and traditional family values. God weighed them in the balance long ago and found them wanting. We’re just seeing that end play out so God’s original blueprint and plan can be implemented. Rather than cursing the darkness now, let’s pray for God’s divine design to manifest. His plan is healing, joy, hope and love. Let’s work on that.

Mike Eisner is 81. Put him on rejuvenation therapy, and bring him in. He led the company in the Little Mermaid years, which was a return to excellence after years of decline.
Probably not the producer/director either. If Kathleen Kennedy butchers Star Wars or Indiana Jones, and the CCO says “do it over,” the money is lost anyway, right?

Michael Eisner - $1 billion, Bob Iger - $350 million and counting, Bob Chapek - $50 million. He was fired so Bob Iger could be brought back and loot some more.
