Trailer Park Legend Described As ‘Gluttonous Eater Of Fried Foods’ And ‘Lady’s Man’ Remembered In Viral Obituary

A Kentucky trailer park legend by the name of James Loveless passed away earlier this month.

His obituary outlining binge drinking, debauchery, and a general passion for the simple things in life has gone viral after the Internet got wind of it. The obit was picked up by the NY Post and Barstool, and guys all over are attracted to this viral obituary like a moth to flame.

Here are some of the more memorable entries from James Loveless’ viral obituary:

“As a gluttonous eater of fried foods and snack cakes, as well as the occasional chili cheese dog, James, tried in vain to give up the ghost by clogging his arteries and having a stroke in 2015. His twin boys, Rocky and Rodney, had other plans and made him go to the hospital. While waiting in the ER at the hospital, he was heard saying, “Let’s make a break for it!”, only to be heard by one of the hospital staff and forced to go through the procedure. He wasn’t too excited about the prospect, but went anyway.”

If you are a lover of chili cheese dogs and fried foods like James, maybe treat yourself to a little extra indulgence his weekend because why not?

James, like many guys, was a lover of barbecue. He understood that ‘slow and low’ was the only way to achieve perfect BBQ and the best way to pass the time was crushing beers:

“On many occasions in life, James was seen in his back yard at the trailer park during the early hours of the morning, hammering beers, standing over country-style ribs, and yelling, “It’s got a head like a cat on it!”, while nearby neighbors would peek out their windows bearing looks of disgust and amazement, as his party guests were slurring remarks about needing to speed up his cooking style. “We’ve been here since 5 o’clock,” they would say. “I’ve got work in the morning.”

I also had similar where I used to work, minus the slim-fast.

Notoriously glutonous eater, probably in the neighborhood of 400 lbs.....all the while relegated to a 3 wheel mobility scooter.

Some people just never grasp the concept of taking care of the physical body.....while unbelievably resilient, it can only take so much.

I used to work with a huge guy like that. He would take the empty donut box in the break room and scrape the crumbs and leftover icing into the corner and funnel it all into his mouth with absolutely no shame. Sad to see really.

Here is a hilarious obituary, written by the deceased just prior to his death.

This obituary was subsequently read by Click & Clack on Car Talk.

The day he died he came into my place, but had a hard time communicating. He walked out the door, stopped on the sidewalk and turned around, shrugged his shoulders and waived goodbye, and went home and died.

Lou, a retired English professor at Bucknell University was quite a character. He wrote his own obituary which was read by Click & Clack on NPR’s Car Talk. (If we all could only have a sense of humor like this when facing death.)(this is real and NOT A JOKE, exactly as published in the newspaper.)

LEWISBURG PA - Louis J. Casimir Jr. bought the farm Thursday, Feb. 5, 2004, having lived more than twice as long as he had expected and probably three or four times as long as he deserved.

Although he was born into an impecunious family, in a backward and benighted part of the country at the beginning of the Great Depression, he never in his life suffered any real hardships.

Many of his childhood friends who weren’t killed or maimed in various wars became petty criminals, prostitutes, and/or Republicans.

He survived three years overseas in an infantry regiment in excellent health, then university for four years on the GI bill, and never thereafter had to do an honest day’s work.

He was loved by good women, had loyal friends, and all his children were healthy, handsome and bright.

For more than six decades, he smoked, drank and ate lots of animal fat, but never had a serious illness or injury.

His last wish was that everyone could be as lucky as he had been, even through his demise was probably iatrogenic.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Judy.

He is survived by his brother Jack of Houston, Texas; and his children, Randall Kent of Brunswick, Ga., Louis John III (Trey) of Lewisburg, Thomas Bettis of Lewisburg and Edith Austin Wheat of Austin, Texas.

Lou was a daredevil: his last words were “Watch this!”

A memorial service and barbecue will be held on Labor Day at Lou’s place.

Per the Obit:

“He leaves behind ......, as well as a pair of old boxers which have ‘Buttweiser the King of Rears’ printed on the design. He will be moderately missed.”
