I wouldn’t expect trucks to require drivers too much longer. Drones will start carrying more load soon, although noise will likely limit their use - hopefully.

Drones might work for small end-user deliveries, but not for the big deliveries a semi drives.

They’re also terrible on energy efficiency compared to the truck. It’s not just moving a load from A to B, it’s generating enough lift to carry that load that distance.

There’s a reason intercontinental trade uses shipping and not FedEx Air. Much cheaper to move more stuff.
