Law enforcement officials in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on Wednesday, reported a male suspect allegedly stole several cases of Bud Light beer from a convenience store.
When reports of the alleged crime were shared online, readers responded by making jokes at the thief's expense that referenced the ongoing boycott of Bud Light by conservatives.

Newsweak is still grimly trying to sell the “conservative boycott” line and is wondering why it isn’t working. Sales are at least 30% down nationwide - that’s a lot more than just “conservatives”. What it really indicates is that the the media are trying to marginalize the opposition to the degradation of women that actually occurred and continues to. Trying to rename it won’t change a damn thing in the real world.
