well I think it USED to be that our cops were men among men, strong character, reliable, knew what to do in a bad situation, knew the difference between bad and good....
we've all watched too much Dragnet....guys that were straight forward and honest to the core....

Cops have always been dishonest and corrupt, but something I liked about the old cops is that they were large, and in most cases willing to fight rather than just shoot you, but then they were always beating people out of meanness and using drop weapons and such.
