Rush had the mentality of a fraudster. Only instead of being a financial whiz fraudster, he was an adventurer, engineering fraudster. So far, only two good things came out of this mess. Stockton Rush is no longer able to do any more fraud. People will think twice about dangerous actions in order to get the dopamine rush.
Note: look at how many political fraudsters there are.
His insistence on being inspired led to his being expired.
The other crews, being experienced people, would not, and do not, use ships that aren’t tested, and they follow regulations, because of precisely what happened here with a company that didn’t use experienced people, fired the one experienced person that raised serious concerns, and built a design that didn’t even match his original design specs.
I read where Titan was towed behind the support ship & may have contributed to the fatigue on the submersible.

It was on a towing platform. It had been to titanic twice so the two prior trips had fatigued the carbon fiber already. There is a lifespan to carbon fiber under that amount of stress. They didn’t know what the lifespan was. Never did testing.
Good guess. My take is getting bounced around behind the ship put additional strains on the titanium to CF epoxy connections
Great find. I didnt realize they were that careless with it, as everytime you did see it with the mothership the photo would show it on the towing platform.
Why the hell were they doing that?!?
