Where I am a local organization asks for volunteers to help cl up the beach on the 5th......this year on the local news I saw a guy picking up a small grill that still had food on it. SMH
City people just do not care or appreciate it. They come trash it and run.

Kinda weird that the Tahoe folks that do the fireworks don’t seem to have a problem doing them over the water though. Lucky the lake is the clearest it’s been in decades. IIRC the average clarity goes down to about 71 feet.

Yes, why do people think it is okay to litter?! This is the real environmental issue. And likely liberal and progressives. Take a look, for example, the aftermath of Trump events on the National Mall, as one good example. No trash.
Tahoe used to be pretty cool. Then the hipsters moved in, yuppies and guppies with their therapy dogs and yoga mats.
It is on holidays, and weekends during the summer, that you get to see urban-dwellers at their offensive best. Many of them are virtually, un-civilized slobs. They are the type that would throw a lit cigarette-butt out of a car window on a rural roadway on a hot summer day. They are the reason you fled the Bay Area or Al A for “literally” greener pastures. Don’t get me wrong, while the urbanites lack couth, the residents up in Tahoe and other forested areas, believe the terrain belongs exclusively to them. And, they would rather see you mauled and eaten by a bear rather than harm one of those often “invasive” predators, in preservation of your life. I try to avoid both species!
It’s a different crowd that comes to these places anymore. It’s weird. Something is going on.
No one is working and some pretty low class individuals are more affluent than their character would seem to allow.

We did a lot of camping and going places when I grew up and the RULES were simple, you pack it in you pack it out. Nowadays I see the proud liberal tree hugger hiking and their faithful minions Just Leaving all their Trash wherever they are.
There is a mountain right by my house that is a very popular place to go when it snows or when the California Poppies are in full bloom, it attracts Thousands and they just leave all their trash on the side of the road.

Ten to one the celebration was mostly attended by Gen Zeros and Millennials who seem to me to be generations that consider themselves to be privileged and just expect older folks to clean up whatever mess they make ... the Democrats have taught them well.
