The discovery of a stash of cocaine in the White House became public because a hazmat team was sent in on the possibility that the white powdery substance might have been anthrax or some other deadly terror weapon. Were it not for the hazmat team’s highly visible and noteworthy arrival, I believe it is quite possible that the matter would have been handled with the discretion for which the Secret Service is famous (and notorious), protecting the privacy of the First Family.
Now that we know about it, there are multiple signs that a coverup is underway to protect someone whom the Secret Service guards.
One: the “evolving” location in which the coke was found

First, it was “near the White House.” Then it was on the “White House complex.” Then it was reported it was found in the library.
But then on Tuesday, July 4th, when most Americans were likely not following the news, we heard that it was in a “work area” in the West Wing….

I worked on an AFB, telecommunications. We weren't allowed to have phones in the building. If you got caught with one you were in big trouble.
If they'd had found a bag of blow everybody would have been subject to what you described, blanket testing. They would've run down the source doing whatever it took.
Of course there were no visitors there. You had to have specific clearance to get in. Even so, something like that would never get "swept under the rug".

Even if it was Hunter’s...it took years for his investigation into illegal firearm possession and tax evasion, which he only got a misdemeanor for and someone paid his taxes off anyway. Conservatives aren’t going to see ‘Justice’ from the FBI or DOJ, only ‘Just Us’.
Tragically, this time it will not be so clear.
This time the King of England role is most likely played by a (leftist/authoritarian/deep state puppet) Dem president.
On this occasion, the commander-in-chief's troops in the field are U.S. personnel, both federal and some state LEO's and from every branch of the military.
It could well commence no later than the next stolen election.
